Ticket question

I'm a total newbie and we will be going on our very first Disney trip this April. I'm pretty sure this is probably a very dumb question but I'm a bit confused. We ended up getting park tickets with the water park and fun option but they are non-park hoppers. So my question is. Can we go to let's say MK in the morning and then go to resort to rest and go back to MK at night, or would we need park hoppers for this? Also, how hard is it to just add on park hoppers to our package? Another dilemma I have is that we want to go to the water park and then go to HS at night is that possible or does this require park hopper tickets? Thanks you guys for helping out.

It is very easy to add the hoppers. Call as soon as possible.
If you did NOT buy these tickets as part of a WDW Resort Package,
you must wait until you are at WDW to upgrade your tickets.
