Ticket Question...

I have a chance to buy 3 x adult Park Hopper tickets being sold through my town's classified ad. The ad says they do not expire until Dec. 31/30. Is this possible?

Also, would I be able to exchange one for a kid ticket? Can I use them anytime, or do they have to be used all at once?

Thoughts?

The tickets do have an expiration date. unless they never expire then they can only be used on that date they say that it expires. Hope this helps.

I would be very careful on buying tickets from someone you don't know. It is very difficult to tell (from current tickets) if they are good and I know of none with that type of expiration date. Any ticket is generally good forever unless used, then 14 days from first use. Yes, there are non expiration tickets but if used even once are linked to the person that used them through biometrics (part of finger print) THere are also some FL resident passes that are different in expiration dates. I wouldn't take the chance.

I guess if they are very old tickets (with dates actually stamped on them) and there are dates not stamped, they should be still good. They, too, really were sold to be used by the same person but harder to enforce. They DID NOT have expiration dates on them though so I don't know what that's about.

Interesting information indeed. The ad mentions that "tickets have never been used, are not fingerprinted, and guaranteed to work". I'm not sure what to make of that.

Like I said I wouldn't take the chance. I wouldn't want to buy something like this and get to WDW only to find out they're not valid. It's just not worth it.

If they're no expiration tickets, they would have no expiration-not a delayed one. It seems strange that they have an exp.

Even Disney's website warns about buying tickets from sources like this. In order to check the validity of the tickets, you would have to have them and the numbers on the back and sometimes they still will not give you the info over the phone.

Also depending on when they were sold, changes have been made to how they've been accounted for with their use. My Mother bought park hoppers in 1997 and all the days were not used at the parks but these also had so many days at water parks in addition to the park days. I advised her to check with Disney before going in 2005 but she didn't. Her unpleasant surprise was that she had to buy new tickets after arriving. When they changed to the Magic Your Way syle of ticket, they started counting the days on old tickets differently and said that hers had all been used and since they are given guidelines to go by and we had no written explanation of how the tickets could be used at the time of purchase, there was no way to argue the point with them.

And someone mentioned the Biometric system. The ticket itself states that it only to be used by one person--I don't remember the actual legal wording.

I suspect the seller bought the tickets, and then for some reason was unable to go on the trip. I don't think they are unused portions of larger tickets -- they are one day only.

I wonder if I should contact them and ask for the ticket numbers. Is there a specific phone number or email to use at Disney where I could ask about this?

I wouldn't risk hundreds of dollars because of a strangers bad luck situation. If they bought them and can't use them right now, they CAN use them sometime in the future (or sell them to someone they know who can use them versus through a classified).
