Ticket Question

I'm wondering if we need a ticket for our youngest when we go to DL and Universal.

She will turn 3 just under a month before we go.

Do you think we need a ticket for her ?

I'm just wondering if we can save money if we don't need one for her. I plan to buy our tickets soon to get it out of the way.

My answer is this if she isn't tall you should be fine. Dd is very tall so we were questioned about her age when she just turned 2. Ds is very small and short so when we all had AP's except him we took him in up to 2 months after his birthday without paying. No one questioned him. haha this brings up a funny story...friends of mine go every month just about it to DL and their grand daughter turned 3 last year..well, when you ask her how old she is she will tell you 3 but I am 2 when I go to disneyland matter of factly!!

And I never did the exact same thing the above poster did when my dd was one month past her third birthday. Really, I didn't!

Yeah I agree. We went 3 weeks after DD#2 turned 3 and did not buy her a ticket. We knew we would need an AP on the next visit one month later and decided to wait as we wouldn't have been able to fit in that extra little trip if we had to pay for it then.

And no to all the moral police, we DID NOT make our child lie. She never once had to tell anyone she was 2, I never even suggested it to her so she has no clue we did this and she won't be ruined forever!!

I guess it was my upbringing, my parents probably ruined me forever making me say I was 9 at the movies when I was really 11!! That's why I did this horrible deed, it was my bad childhood. I am a cheat and a liar and I get away with everything because I had to fib about my age once.

(Ducking and waiting for the stones to be cast at me now!! If anyone's interested, I'd prefer lashings with a wet noodle this time if you can find it in your heart.)

If I really wanted to get people worked up, I would admit that I've had 6 people in a DLH room before. But I don't so I won't.

Thanks Ladies. I was wondering if we could do that. Has anyone ever been asked at Universal Studios ? I'm thinking I might buy one for her there. It's only 62.00. She is small for her age. At least I think so lol. And she will be in a stroller too.

Ya the big ones want to go there. We did it in Orlando and Hollywood before and they requested Universal again. I can't remember what was going on with other people when we went last time since it was so chaotic first thing in the morning lol

I would imagine Universal to be the same way as DL in general. I don't think you'd have a problem, but if they say anything, then you just buy one.

"Present this can and get 2007 free with no black-out dates for the price of a one day adult admission." Pop was purchased in a 24-pk in Arizona. Oh, has a "speed code" (whatever that is): 2436. Offer valid through 4/30/07 and good for up to six people.

Maybe that's common knowledge, but if not, there ya go.

Just make sure that she doesnt' hear you, as you mention her age if a cm asks. Because i work at a movie theater, and like disney you have to pay if your three. So basically i've seen many parents turn beet red because their child called them out.

Example (this actually happened)
Me: Hi there, welcome to famous
Lady with a little girl: Hi can i get one ticket for ice age 2
Me: sure, and how old is your daughter? (her daughter looked older than three)
Lady: oh she's 2, does she have to pay?
Me: No, cut off is at three
Little girl: *looks at her mommy* But mommy, i'm four!,
Lady: Your two
Little girl: *looks at mommy and starts to get louder* But mommy i'm four!
Lady: *turning red* Shh, go see your daddy
Little girl: BUT MOMMY I"M FOUR!!! *holds out four fingers proudly at me*
Lady: *muttering* She doesnt' know what she's talking about.

I don't usually end up charging for the "2" year old as i find the matter of embarressment is enough. But yes, be very careful!

We had such great planning when we did this. Dd was old enough to know better so dh took her in a different line and we played the lets see who can get in first game! That way she wouldn't hear if they questioned ds's age. My son is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shy that if he was directly asked his age he would bury his head in his hands and not answer. We knew we were a shoe in without making them lie!!!

Oh and the hotel room thing.....kinda like traveling across country when you stop at the ones where they charge per person and dh goes up and says 1 person but I like 2 queen beds so I can spread my luggage out!

Yes maybe it's a sign that one time I broke down in the "hot" part of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and was stuck there for a while. Disney was punishing me!!!
I thought the apples I bought at the stand tasted funny but it could have been my imagination. It was at that fruit stand my Casey Jr. that has a sign reading "Fresh Apples for those that snuck their 3 year olds in!"

Haven't been to DLR yet, but at WDW the CMs ask the child their age first not the guardian. So, if you want to not pay make sure your child is aware of their "age."

I think if the thought of the white lie stresses you, you're better off purchasing the ticket.
