My Dad got us 4 day park hopper tickets through the military base because they are way cheaper. We booked our anniversary trip with free dining. Problem was we had to buy 2 day base tickets to get the free dining package. We want to sell the 2 day unused tickets to make up for buying 2 sets of tickets but the quesion is....reservations said the tickets will be attached to our room key and would be signed by us at check in. Won't that cause a problem with us selling them cause even though we never use them to pass through the park gates, they will have our signatures on them?? Please let me know if you have any idea. Thanks!

In the past they were able to remove the tickets from your room key and were able to give you a paper ticket. I don't think the resorts can do that, I think you have to go to guest services at either downtown Disney or at the parks.

I had the tickets removed from my room key and issued as paper tickets at the Pop Century conceirge desk. They were very reluctant to do it (once they are issued as a paper ticket, if you lose it, you are out of luck where if you lose your Key To The World they can reissue it). However, they are able to do it. We needed ours removed from our room key because we were using the free Give A Day tickets to get into the park on our first day and then upgrading that to the ticket we needed (10 day hoppers).

We will need to have our tickets removed from our key again this trip since we upgraded our last tickets to annual passes that will still be valid and I don't want to waste an admission by accidentally using the KTTW instead of our annual pass. Once our next trip is over, we'll have a total of 3A, 1C one day tickets and 2A, 1C two day tickets to use for other trips. As long as the ticket has never been used, it will never expire.

Once they are a separate ticket, take a picture or jot down the numbers on the back of the ticket in case something happens to it.

unless one of you is a spouse to a sm or a sm you wont be able to activate the military tickets

I was also going to say I hope you have a military person or spouse with you to activate with tickets. Otherwise, you might have just spend money on tickets you can't use.

You could only sell them if you get them removed from your KTTW cards and issue on regular ticket stock. Currently, it seems that the resorts are unable to do that due to a system issue, but you may be able to get that done at Guest Relations at a park or DTD.

Unused tickets are transferable.

You have several problems here.

1. If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #17, you can get a lot more information about the military ticvkets. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. But basically if these are the $138 (or $165) 2011 Armed Forces Salute Tickets they are not valid until they are activated at a Park Ticket or Guest Relations Window. To be activated the person with the actual military (active or retired) ID or a person with a DD-1173 that indicates "Spouse" or "Unremarried Widow" must be present. Without one of these people the cards are worthless.

2. Whether or not the tickets are removed from the KTTW card, there is no way, by looking at them, to tell what is actually on them and currently valid. Who do you think you could sell these to?

3. You could save these tickets for a future trip. The 14 day expiration clock does not start until a ticket is actually run through a WDW turnstile; the dates on the KTTW deal only with the room reservation (and dining) and not the ticket portion of the card.

4. And, by definition, an upgrade is taking one ticket and adding money to it to end up with a new ticket with more days or options. You cannot combine tickets for an upgrade.

Military installations sell discounted tickets that are not the Armed Forces Salute ones that people are talking about here. They are regular tickets that anyone could buy anywhere, just at a discounted price for Military and DOD employees. No special ID is needed to use them but an eligible person has to purchase them. If those are the type of tickets you are talking about than the military person does not need to be with you to activate them.

Trust me, I did my research on this before my father purchased them. I am certainly not one to jump in blind and loose myself money. I placed several calls about them before he ordered them. He purchased 4, 2 for us and 2 for my parents at his closest military base. These are the salute to the military tickets. My mom and him are on their anniversary trip there now. He took all the ticket vouchers he received to guest relations at AK and had our names put on two of them. They have not been used (passed through a turnstile) so they will not activate until we use them in May. Like I said, I talked to various disney reps before doing this and my Dad confirmed we would not have a problem using them before putting our name on them.

As for my question, it sounds like we can get a paper ticket printed for the 2 day base tickets included in our package plan. I assume the paper ticket will say 2 day base ticket on it so I should not have a problem selling it. I have a friend that may be interested and would also consider craigslist.

I will say I've not had luck asking to have my tickets taken from my room key and put on a separate ticket. It seems that not every CM knows how to do it and many will tell you it's impossible. I've never cared to spend a lot of time trying to do it, so I haven't pushed the issue.

I hope your friend is interested. I personally would *NEVER* buy tickets off Craigslist or Ebay. There is just no way to know if they are valid or not. Don't expect to get face value for them if you offer them on CL or other resale medium.

I have had my park admission removed from my KTTW card since we had an annual pass. I didn't want it on the KTTW card since I thought it could get tossed after the trip. I still have the separate ticket they issued. It was one of the plastic type cards just like a KTTW card only it just had the park admission on it. They also gave me a receipt showing each of the four one day passes #s in case I lost the cards. I did this at the front desk at POP Century, and have done this two different trips now.

good luck... :goodvibes

Just last week I had tickets removed from our room key. I had to do it at a park but it was no problem at all.

I also did it with tickets when we were there in January. That time the CM did give me a raised eye brow but I explained our trip was over and that we didn't need to use the tickets from our premium package as we had days left from our normal trip.

Since we go nearly every year we will save these tickets to use ourselves in the future.
