We are planning a similar trip for Spring Break.
(We are only going in March-April because we are watching my son's high school baseball team play at ESPN for part of the trip.)
Staying at WBC and in the middle of stay going to Universal.
Due to my husband's craziness about crowds and lines (yes there will be both but hubs has to ride all those rides with my daughter that make me so sick I can't stand up)and to keep my sanity, I booked a room at the HRH for one night in order to get early entry both mornings and unlimited express passes for both days.
Crunching the numbers it was cheaper to rent HRH for one night at regular room rate than to get three of us unlimited express passes for two days and there is no way to get early entry without staying onsite or at a participating hotel.
The HRH is a bit more expensive than Royal Pacific but we are planning to sleep at the hotel and I think my husband and daughter will really enjoy HRH our daughter plays at school of rock and loves rock music and the musicians we listened to when we were young.
To save about $100 more on my trip this is what I am planning to do.
I have purchased our tickets through
Undercover Tourist~ they are 2 day park to park with a 3rd day free.
I have reserved HRH using the Seasonal Pass Holder Discount which gives me a substantial discount on the room during this high season.
The first day we enter Universal parks I will go to guest services and upgrade my
UT ticket to a Seasonal pass holder ticket for about $20.
The next day, when we check into HRH I will show them my seasonal pass to ensure the Pass Holder discount on the room.
I picked up this tip reading other DIS conversations where posters have done the same.
This trip is so freakin expensive and so complicated~ I'm trying to make everyone happy without breaking the bank.
