Ticket Question (2-day/1 park per day)

Ok gotta ticket question. We are going to Disney in September for 4 nights, however, will only be spending 2 days in the parks. I found the single day ticket prices on wdwinfo, and there is a listing for a 2-day ticket. There seems to be a little bit of a price break when you buy 2 days worth of tickets up front. My question(s)...
-Has anyone here done this, is this still available? (Or will the CM look at me like I am an idiot?)
-Do you have to use the days back-to-back?

Yes you can still do it as long as you buy both tickets the same day..I believe if you just buy 1 addl. it has to be used within 4 days I want to say...

Can this type of ticket ( 2 day/2 park ticket) be bought the day prior to touring . We will be arriving in Lake Buena Vista Dec. 20th and will have several free hours. I would love to somewhere purchase this type of ticket that day but not use it until Dec 21 (AK) and Dec 22 (MK). Is this possible, or must it be purchased on the same day of use????
We will be staying off-site and was wondering where we could buy this ticket on the 20th. Maybe TTC or MK entrance? OR maybe AK entrance? Would I still have to pay for parking if I am simply buying tickets? If I buy them at MK entrance can I also use the monorail that day (and simply pay a small fee)???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

2 day/2 park tickets can be purchased prior to the day you want to use them. They are available at any theme park ticket booth, any Guest Relations location, and at any Disney resort's front desk or Guest Services.

When you buy them, keep in mind that the second day must be used within four days of purchase.
