Ticket purchase question

Hi - I hope I'm posting in the correct place! I have a question about purchasing tickets.

We are going at the end of October/beginning of November, and will be doing one of two things: (a) 2-day hoppers with MNSSHP for the 3rd day or (b) 3-day hoppers. If I want to purchase tickets now, on the assumption that prices will increase, what's my best option?
  • Buy 3-day hoppers now and if we decide to do MNSSHP, we can downgrade to 2-day and use the credit for MNSSHP (I don't know if this is possible)
  • But 2-day hoppers now, and add either MNSSHP tix or 3rd day, depending on what we decide to do
  • A third option I'm not thinking of?
Thanks!

Option 2 would work. I don’t believe you can downgrade a ticket. But honestly, we don’t even know there will be a MNSSHP this year and if there is, and not sure how long into November it runs.

My guess is if MNSSHP happens its going to extend beyond Halloween...
My guess for it is only in the month of October this year.

Option 1 is not really an option.

I'd probably hold off but if you're going to buy now then I'd probably just do the 3 day ticket and skip the party if it is even available.

Or-- wait until you are closer to your trip dates to buy anything.
We still don't know what will happen with WDW "rules" as the summer season rolls through.

As others have stated, there is no credit for downgrading a ticket to fewer days.

If you buy a 2-day ticket and later upgrade to a 3-day ticket, you will pay the difference between the price of the 2-day ticket when you bought it and the price of the 3-day ticket when you upgrade it. In that case, if the ticket price went up in the meantime, you will not have benefited by buying the 2-day ticket before the price increase. On the other hand, if you buy a 2-day ticket before a price increase and don't upgrade it later, you will have avoided the price increase. That would be the case if you go to MNSSHP on your third day instead of a daytime park.

The last scheduled MNSSHP for 2020 was to be on November 1, before they canceled them all. If you're optimistic, you could hope they run that late this year, if they schedule any at all.

I'm assuming no rules changes.

Thanks, everyone.

I have literally no idea why I keep saying we're going in November - I think it's because we're off for Jersey week. But, we arrive in Orlando on the 30th of October!

I get it haha. I had a trip from Oct 30th-Nov 5th in 2019 and I always call it my November trip.
