Ticket Pricing is Confusing Me

I have booked Poly for 5 nights in October. I called my AAA office and asked about WDW tickets. The lady told me they have a 5 day hopper for $243. That price is with a discount. I called a Disney Store and they told me that a 5 day hopper for three people will cost me around $800. I then looked at the Magic Your Way pricing at the WDW website which says the park hopper option for 3 people for 5 days comes to $703. If I add an extra day it is only a few dollars more.
I don't understand why there are so many different prices out there and how do I know I am getting the lowest price. Are there stipulations on the Magic Your Way tickets? Is that only available to guests staying at WDW resorts?

Yes, there can be a significant difference between MYW ticket prices.

A great place to check for prices and discounts is Mousesavers, specifically this link http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwtixdiscounts.html

Scroll down and you'll see info and links to Ticketmania and Undercover Tourist which have competitive prices.

Last year we ended up buying ours direct from Disney because they were a few dollars cheaper than Ticketmania - sometimes it depends on which ticket you want. For example, a 5 day hopper might be cheaper on Disney or a 10 day might be cheaper on Ticketmania (that's just a loose example).

You definitely do not have to be a resort guest to purchase tickets from Disney.com

I checked just about everywhere for prices this year too and I took a note of all the prices and went with the cheapest (turned out to be a UK company).

Oh, don't forget to allow for tax - sometimes it's included in the price you see on screen, other times it's not added on til the end of the purchase process (it's not added on til the end on Disney's site).

Yes, the big price difference may be that one person has quoted you the cost with the huge Florida sales tax added, while it might not be included in another quote. And it doesn't matter where you buy the tix, you still pay that tax.
