Ticket Prices Increasing June 12th!

Maybe I'm missing something when I work it out as I haven't found a discount on a value resort that would make it cheaper for me to book over the Free Dining Pkg. It's just one adult and one child at Pop for 14 nights. What am I missing? We do the DDP and we like it. We usually have quite a few snack credits left over but use the TS and CS credits. We bring the snacks home for friends and family.

You are not missing anything. In your case it is a lot harder to make it work. Free Dining is a bigger win if the room is fully occupied with 4 people, as you are paying a set price for the room, but getting a variable price (the per-person DDP cost) free. So with only 1 adult and one child, you are only getting something like a $40/day value with free dining (I', assuming the free QSDDP with a value resort), but if your room discount was better than $40/day, free dining makes no sense. Put two adults and 2 children with one 10 or over, and the free DDP is closer to a $100/day value.

At deluxe resorts, the room discounts can often be better than the free DDP even with 4 people.

I am not saying it is ALWAYS that way for every family. I'm saying it has never worked out for OUR family, or the families I know. I'm not saying you shouldn't like it either. I have a friend who would rather buy the dining plan (knowing it costs her family more than paying out of pocket) because then her DH doesn't complain about spending money eating (even though it would cost less later).

BUT... Having extra snack (or TS, CS) credits isn't a good use of your funds. That's money you wouldn't have spent. Therefore, you can't count any of that as a savings.

Plus, in particular to you, free dining at a value is only CS, so you're paying to upgrade to a higher dining plan. You are also paying rack rate on the room, and a lot of times, you can get a room discount at the same time you are getting free dining (not as much anymore). Then you are also buying tickets with your package, which is the most expensive way to purchase tickets.

Evaluating dining means comparing the bottom line with paying out of pocket for what you would exactly eat on your ideal plan v. paying for the dining plan and covering what isn't covered by the dining plan.

Yikes! They increased early this year.. We are going to spend time at Universal next year. ;)

Another very grateful, repeat customer of Under Cover Tourist :thanks: It is rare to find a business that is so honest and so dedicated to superb customer service

We are holding our ticket prices at the old level while supplies last.

We carry a huge inventory but we also have a ton of orders right now!

We cannot guarantee inventory but we expect to fulfill at least this week at old prices.

Shipping (Free) - please note due to the huge volume of orders we have received and expect to continue to receive, we temporarily extended the delivery time for free shipping from our usual 10 business days to 15 business days.

About 1 hour ago 10:34am EST we had to extend the shipping time again to 22 business days. This extension does not affect any orders already placed!

So all previous orders will be shipped within the time frame stated in your email confirmation - the 22 days is only for new orders going forward.

We appreciate your understanding, that we wish to ship these orders as quickly as possible, however we also wish to ship them accurately and are dealing with many order amendments as people often make mistakes when rushing to place their order!

At this time we are unable to take new orders over the phone as we have all hands on deck!

Thank you so much for supporting us and we appreciate your understanding that we are swamped! Which as a Frog family is no bad thing :rotfl2:

Undercover Tourist:goodvibes

That's great news!! I remember ours came very quickly last year. I ordered Friday too so hopefully ours will come today.

FYI: Ours required a signature..though they were sent via US mail.

It may have been because the value was so high (it was $1600+ in tickets), but just be aware you might have to sign for them.

Anyone know, how long it may take for Undercover Tourist to sell out?

I got my order in this morning, for a standard 3-day ticket with no extra options. The website displayed a brief notice about the price increase and urged customers to get their orders in as soon as possible, before existing ticket inventories are exhausted. I agree with a previous poster that the more popular types of tickets are likely to sell out more quickly. Just which types those are, I don't know.

Grrr..I've already purchased tickets for our fall trip. I need to buy more, so I can renew our annual passes. Hopefully, they will last a couple of weeks.

Got my UT tix over the weekend, ready to convert to AP in September. Thanks again for your service, Undercover Tourist!

Buy the tickets now, then use them once before you upgrade them. You will get the higher gate price (as of tomorrow) credited towards the cost of the APs.

Is this true for AP upgrades? I have an AP voucher purchased before the price increase. I plan to upgrade it to a PAP. If I use the AP before I upgrade to a PAP, will I get credited for the new AP cost when they calculate the difference between the AP and the PAP?

I can't say I recall this scenario mentioned before, but I believe it still holds true. If you first activate the AP voucher (you have to go to the booth to do this first) for a standard AP, use it, then upgrade to a PAP, you should only pay the current difference.

If you turned in the AP voucher and directly said, I'd like to upgrade to a PAP, you'd possibly have to pay the full difference in the purchase price of the voucher and the current PAP.

Because we are talking about activating an AP voucher which is done at the booth and not the turnstile, the CMs might be able to short-circuit the "use it at the turnstile first" step. I'm not sure about that.

So glad I saw this thread over the weekend. We're arriving July 13, and were just planning to buy tickets at the window. Saved about $95 on 4 annual passes by ordering them on 6/11, before the price increase.

I see a lot of people chose to have their tickets shipped ... not sure why. I just chose the will-call option. One less thing to be paranoid about forgetting when we leave.

I still have nightmares from a trip 3 years ago when my sister arrived and as we were at the gates of Epcot, she recalled that she left her pre-purchased AP sitting on the dining room table. Luckily she just had to buy a new one and they let her return the old one unused.

Ugh this is terrible, I havent checked the board in a week, and I find out too late that tickets went up. Its costing us over $100 extra now. Bummer.

It's not too late to order tickets at the old price from Undercover Tourist or Maple leaf Tickets. My AAA office has 4 and 5-day hoppers that they got several years ago, and their price for the 5-day was a bit lower than UT's.

Most of us having the tickets shipped probably ordered through Undercover Tourist.

I've done "will call" for APs in the past. Just make sure you have the credit card you purchased them with on your trip. I'm not sure it's strictly necessary, but it seemed to speed up the process for us.

Oh yep, I just ordered them. Was $142 less than disney. Glad I saw this in time. Thanks!
