We decided well before our last trip that we would be going on another Disney trip in February 2010, so we bought Annual passes for the Disney parks, Seaworld, and Universal. We recently found out that my hubby is going to be losing his job at the end of August. :scared1::headache::sad2::sad1: We are hoping that he will be put in a different position elsewhere, but if he has to be on unemployment for awhile, we will live.

Okay, that being said, has anyone seen any discounts for rooms for 2010? Trying to be frugal!! And I think we want to stay on Disney grounds since we don't have our timeshare in 2010.

I posted on the "Codes" boards, but no one has responded. Also, my mom will probably want to go with us as she always does. She will have to buy tickets because she didn't buy an AP. Do you all think the ticket prices will go up??

No, the AP discounts are only up to Oct 3, 2009. I am going to say that AP rates for 2010 won't come out for a few more months. The packages for 2010 won't even be released until mid August, then a couple weeks later the Nov/Dec AP discounts come out.

thank you for your responses...we will know DH's fate next week. Unemployment isn't the worst thing that can happen to us, so we are trying to stay hopeful and optimistic. We know we will get through this and are just thankful for all the good things in our life.

I will keep an eye open for some codes, but have also been exploring other sites, such as Priceline and Expedia. Thanks everyone!

Have you looked into booking a Getaway week with your timeshare (I assume you are with Interval)?

...and sending Pixie Dust your way that all goes well!

Hey Sarah!!! Sorry to hear about the job. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything about rates. If they are offering bouncebacks while I'm down there, I'm sure that means that there will be general public deals to follow!

Sorry to hear about your DH, been there done that...

I know this isn't what you asked for but have you considered looking into Hotwire or Priceline. You can get some really good deals with a 3 or 4 star hotel. I would not suggest going for anything under that though. Also check travelzoo.com every once in a while for deals. Sometimes they have good ones on there. Again, I know you said "on-site" and this isn't but it is an alternative and can save you money... and get you more trips for less cost :thumbsup2
Since my DH lost his "good job" back in 2004, yes, he found a job a few months later, but the salary is like 1/4 of what he was making; I have learned to cut expenses so I can travel just as frequent... I no longer stay at any Disney Deluxe :sad2: and for the price of a moderate, I can get a condo unit off property... I will however still do values when I get a good FL resident rate... other than that, if I want to go every 6-8 weeks, I have to cut out a chunck of what I pay to stay...:goodvibes
