Our family has always stayed on-site, but are seriously considering off-site (WH condo) for our early 2013 trip.

Our first visit at WDW, we ordered tickets from UT. They were paper, but once we got to the resort Disney put then on our KTTW cards.

My husband is usually the fast-pass runner and does not want to carry paper tickets around. Can we get "credit card" type tickets from ticket retailers?

TIA!
Rhonda

If you order your tickets directly from Disney online, they will send you the plastic cards. But, you will pay more per ticket and outrageous shipping charges to get them. DSIL always gets two day passes only (which UT doesn't sell) so we get hers from Disney. So far as I know, all other ticket retailers (including Disney Ticket Offices at the parks and DTD) print theirs on paper stock.

Honestly, I don't see any advantage to the plastic cards. The paper ones seem just as durable, and are lighter to carry around.

thanks for the info!

Ok... I know this may be a dumb question...but...the paper tickets work in the FP machines? right? :confused3

The paper tickets aren't actually paper at all - they're Tyvek, which is a type of plastic. They're actually much more durable and less prone to demagnetizing than hard plastic tickets, too.

You won't have UT prices, but you can buy hard plastic tickets at the Disney Store if you have one locally. We also like the hard plastic tickets so we buy Disney gift cards at Kroger to get fuel points and then use them at the mall for our park tickets. At least you feel a little better about missing UT prices by saving on your gas.
