I obviously wasn't paying attention when I purchased my tickets and bought children's tickets instead of 10 and older. I can't get through on the phone and don't know how to rectify this. I am local soI am not adverse to driving to DLR to see someone in customer service but wasn't sure if I could even get in without a reservation. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks!

What number are you calling? You should be able to get someone on the phone during normal business hours.

I did the exact same thing and am going in early June. I called guest services from the number on the DL website but after 3 hours of waiting on hold the CM I talked to said she didnt know how to help but was going to transfer me to a superviser who could probably help. But she must have accidentially hung up. I wasnt waiting on the phone for 3 hours again so I tried the chat feature on the DL app. After about 24 hours they got back to me on there and said I can upgrade my tickets at the ticket booths in the esplanade. We are driving down the day before our first park day anyway so I plan to head over to the ticket booths after we check into our hotel and upgrade then so i dont have to worry about it (hopefully) on our first park day.

Yes, if I am willing to wait online for multiple hours. I got in the queue right when they opened this morning and the estimated wait time was a reasonable 20 minutes. About 5 minutes in, the line went dead and when I called back the estimate was "at least 2 hours". Since I have to go to work that won't work. I will continue to try...

Thank you so much for the information! I think I will just drive down a couple of days early to make the change so as not to alarm my family.

Please post here how that goes for you. Im hoping its a painless easy process but of course I am nervous about it until I actually get down there to do it. We drive down on June 1 and go into the parks June 2.

I will.

Did you try the chat feature in the app?
Yes. I am on hold on the phone and the same with the chat feature. High call/chat volume. I also eMailed but the auto response is that they will answer within 5 business days. My fault for not paying attention but I can blame that on just being too excited!

A reservation is not needed to enter DTD and the esplanade between the parks. Guest Services and Ticket Booths (only a few windows) are open

Thanks. That is an option. I am local but still about 35 miles from DLR and would love to get this straightened out before worrying my family.

With the chat, you just have to keep watching it and suddenly someone replies. It took about 24 hours for me to get a reply using the chat, but that was better than waiting on the phone for hours, only to be hung up on! Good luck, and it sounds like it will be an easy upgrade to the adult price at the booth, and your park reservations will stay intact. Have a magical time!!

Good to know. Honestly, I won't let any of this kill my excitement. The hours long waits will become part of the legend.

UPDATE #1--after multiple hours on hold I was able to get through to a cast member. I was told that IF there were reservations available for the day, they would simply have cancelled my kid tickets and reissue them as adult tickets. Because there were no reservations, I do have to go to a ticket booth and have them changed there. It turns out that my daughter and her boyfriend have tickets/reservations for tomorrow so for a small bribe she said she'd take care fo the tickets for me. I will post a second update when I know what the outcome is.

This does seem to be a fairly common occurrence but can be rectified. We had this happen to us a few years ago and it took a few minutes to get the tickets changed over with no extra penalty.

UPDATE #2--my daughter went down to the park this morning and was easily able to change the tickets. The reservations still show "ages 3-9" but the tickets show "age 10 and up". At least the names and ticket numbers match the reservations so I don't anticipate any issues.

Awesome, this makes me feel better about my situation hearing that.

Omg I have the same issue!!! I made am excited mistake on 4/15 and STILL haven't been able to get through. The calling queues are closed or I waited over 2 hours at work the one time I got in. Had to hang up ( I did have to work haha). I emailed 4/16, got a response email the next day saying it could take 5 business days to have an answer to my question, and it WILL be answered... that was last month. Still waiting...

This is what I was advised after finally getting through after multiple hours on hold: I was told that IF there were reservations available for the day, they would simply have cancelled my kid tickets and reissue them as adult tickets. Because there were no reservations, I do have to go to a ticket booth and have them changed there. HOWEVER, yesterday I got answer from the chat I had initiated the day before and this was the info I was given: "Please keep in mind, upgrades cannot be completed online, through the Disneyland® app or over the phone". I was also advised that "The Park Reservations will be fine, even if the ages are incorrect"

My daughter was at the park yesterday and was able to upgrade the tickets within a matter of minutes at the ticket booth.
