Ticket/Maxpass question

We are going to Disneyland and California Adventure on July 4th and 5th and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Maxpass since this is new to us. Last time we visited was 2016 when we were still using old fashioned paper fastpasses. :-) Anyway, I'm going to buy our Parkhopper tickets with Maxpass on the Disney site now and my question is the following: Once I have the e-tickets, can I start preparing things in the Disney app so that things go more quickly once we have entered the park on the 4th. For exampe, can I already now from home enter the ticket numbers into the app so that part is ready and I only have to activate the Maxpass option once we are in the parks? Or do I have to wait until we have exchanged the e-tickets to real tickets when we enter the park in the morning on the 4th and then fix everyhing in the app once we are inside the park?

Any helpful advice regarding Maxpass is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yep, you can enter in the info once you buy tix and then add a name to each. I chose to get paper tix mailed and I entered the info in and we are set for next week! Have fun!

That sounds great, thank you! I want to be as prepared as possible and not have to spend time on this once we are in the park. :-)

Adding on to this. I ordered our tickets through DLH, and I'm picking them up at check-in. Is there any way to purchase MaxPass ahead of time so it's ready to go before we go into the parks? I understand that we can't activate until we're use our park admission, but I would like to have it ready to go before we start our day.

Thank you!

It really only takes a minute or two to purchase MP through the DL app! Make sure you already have your tickets scanned into the app and that you have a credit card on file (and have your 3 digit security code memorized). Then, as soon as you've gone through the turnstile, go to your app, purchase MP, and there you go! Seriously, just a minute or two, and you'll be ready to grab your first FP for the day. It really is that fast and easy.

It’s cheaper to buy the tickets through last minute travel club. They email them to you. Add them to your app. You add mp as soon as you scan at the turnstiles. Takes seconds.

I'm there for training, so we're getting convention rates on tickets. About $38 less per ticket than last minute travel club. Bought them when I booked the room, so I pick them up when I check into the hotel.

I have also already bought my tickets with Max Pass added and have my tickets on the app. Will it be faster to use the paper tickets instead of the barcodes on the app to scan in at the Max Pass turnstile? Might save some battery life in my phone too.

MaxPass turnstile? Do you mean at FP return? We always scan our phone for FP return. Even if you get FP the old fashioned way it links in the app, we’ve always just used that.

Some people scan their phone, others scan their paper ticket. It really depends on what works best for you. If you find that your phone battery is draining too quickly, then using the paper tickets is fine. Test both on your first few rides to see what you prefer. As long as it works for you, doesn't hold up the line, and doesn't risk losing your tickets, then either way is fine.

The last thing I wanna do is hold up the line. Doing the tickets themselves seems kinda retro.:thumbsup2

You read my mind. Not used to the DL nomenclature yet, but I'll get there.
