Ticket Help for Halloween Weekend

Hi, we just got a great rate at the Hard Rock Hotel (I think ...) actually it was the $191 rate that hoteldiscounts shows, and Universal "matched" it - so that was cool, but is that the lowest possible rate you can get? Are there any other GREAT deep discounts that people don't really know about like those disney codes etc ?

Also, we need help with our ticket purchase. We got a price that includes a 2 day park ticket, which allows you 3 days in the parks, and then a 1 night Halloween Horror Night ticket with an express feature along with it - anyway for 4 people it would be $621 - does that sound like the best possible deal out there ? She had said not to get the buy 5 and only pay for 2 deal because we were really only going to be at the park for like 3 days anyway.

If anyone thinks I should just grab them at this price (through Universal) please let me know - if there's a better place to look for tickets - please tell me ! Thanks.

i hope you havent bought your tickets yet!! buy the 5 for 2 bonus passes. this gives you access to the bars/clubs in citywalk if there is any entertainment. use the burger king code that i sent to you ( check your pm ) this will save you $15 off each HHN ticket. UNLESS, you buy the prefered annual pass $180, you get a discount for HHN where each ticket is $30.25 plus tax. there are no discounts for the express passes so you just have to suck it up there .

you did good with the rate. if you had planned earlier (as in jan ) you could have also gotten 30% off the rack rate for your room with the AP discount.

Ok, just talked to the Universal people again, and they say that I'm getting the "better" deal going with the 2 day ticket +1 day free - making the cost of the tickets $139.20 for each adult and $127.49 for each child. The HHN tickets are $21.30 each for all four of us and they say that already has a "discounted" rate in it (I'm guessing the same as the Burger King rate ??) - so that brings the grand total to $621 - if we went with the 5 for 2 - it would make "each" ticket be $133.87 and so we'd actually just pay a couple dollars more - but yet have access to the parks on that final day - Tuesday - but honestly - I think that 3 days will be plenty for us, and we are getting there so late Friday so that's dead, so we'll just do the parks Sat, Sun and Mon, and get ready to leave and enjoy the hotel on Tuesday I guess. Does that then sound like we did good with the tickets ?

is there another outside website to try like the expedia's or whatever is also out there?

You could also get the 15 month 2 park power pass which through AAA is $102.95 (reg 12 month price $140)

15-Month 2 Park Power Pass Blackout Dates:

2004: July 3-4-5 & 10-11 & 17-18 & 24-25 & 31; August 1 & 7-8, and December 24-31.
2005: January 1; March 20 thru April 2; June 25-26, July 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30-31; August 6-7; December 23 thru January 1, 2006.

Then you could add the HHN tickets using the FL resident or Burger King discounts.

Don't know if you have AAA but it's a thought..........

well i added it all up and if you bought 3 bonus passes and one AP for the AP discount you would only save $6.

bonus pass $101.12 (tax included)

prefered annual pass $181.00 (tax included)

HHN with AP discount $32.75 (tax included)

but you would get all of the perks of having a AP.


I just wanted you to know whoever you were talking to was not giving you the correct information. you can go to the universal website if you want to see for yourself.

I'm worried, did you say child? Meaning under 9? I strongly recommend you reconsider taking anyone needing a childs ticket age. I would'nt even take my 12 yo daugther. No way! This is WAY to intense for children needing a childs ticket in my opinon. I promised my daughter when she turns 16 she can go but not until then. Please do some research and really understand what your taking your child to. Just wanted to throw in a word of caution to you. If your child is 9 or under please consider mickey's halloween party for your family. This is really to strong in my opinon.

YIKES!!! Now I'm really starting to freak out ! I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old, and although actually the 5 year old is a much better sport, and LOVES spooky stuff, I am worried about the 8 year old .. he's quite the chicken !!!

I don't really know what to expect as I've never researched this - this is a TOTALLY last minute thing and we are TOTALLY winging it !

Can anyone please give me some examples of how scary it is or what they do or what to expect ?? I really hope we aren't going to scar our children for life !! (hopefully not that bad!)

Don't take a 5 and 8 year old. Universal says it is not recommended for anyone under 13 years of age. This is not your Disney Halloween party with dancing jack-o-lanterns. This is a working movie studio with years of horror movies under its belt. It is very realistic. Trust me.

This is a SCARY party this is NOT disney. Please heed our advise on this one and trust us. We'd love to party with you it's not we are trying to scare you off. Please reconsider and take those kids to Disney's party please don't take them to this event. It's more adult orientined. There is a lot of drinks available at every turn for adults and they do take them up on the drinks if you get my drift. This is not something you would want you kids to be around or atleast i would'nt. It breaks my heart to see even the 13 yo's walking around crying and shaking. They can't seem to grasp what's real and what's not and it really freaks them out. Shoot i'm 35 and i get the whits scared out of me but i just keep saying they can't touch me and it's not really real what i'm seeing. But that's the fun of it to be scared but some of the sights, smells may really tramatize a youth. I know the adults walk thru the houses and they say curse words when they are scared and i would'nt want my 4yo's exposed to the scares or the scenes/sights they would see there. I have triplets that are 4 and like i mentioned a 12yo i would'nt take if the tickets and rooms and spending money where givin to me. I beg of you look into Disney please. We are going tomorrow night to HHN"s and next weekend we are taking our girls to Mnsshp! I can't wait. I know you'll make the best decision and i hope you have a great time.

I took my then 18 and 9 year old daughters 2 years ago. They were both terrified. My younger daughter is now 11 and really looking forward to HHN. Every kid is defferent, but 5 & 8 would definately be too young.

Just a suggestion ...

We have used the child care available at the RPH (Mariner's Club) in the past for our 6 and 9 year old DS's.
(Especially when we want to go to Tchoup Chop!)
They always have a ball and never want to leave!

The Hard Rock Hotel has Camp Li'l Rock.
There is a big screen TV, bean bag chairs, chalkboard, lots of crafts for them to do, board games, and video games.

The ages allowed are 4 through 12.
They must be potty trained.

The cost is $10 per hour for the first child and $8 per hour for each additional child.

They offer dinner to the kids for an extra $10.50 per child.
That includes a choice of Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Chicken Nuggets, Pizza or Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich.

It's open from 5:00 until 11:30 or midnight.
They have later hours on certain nights (might for HHN).

I second the recommendation for camp lil'rock. We and our friends used them last year for 4 kids, ages 9-12. They all enjoyed it.
