Hi! We've already got a room-only reservation for September and we're hoping to upgrade to the free dining on Tuesday.

In order to do this, we have to purchase the same kind of tickets along with the room in a package. The problem is, I have an Annual Pass and my friend does not. I was planning on buying 2 one-day passes for us and then having my friend buy an additional 4-day pass (we'll be doing parks 5 days). If I buy both one-day passes and do not use them, can my friend buy a 5-day ticket at some point and can I keep both 1-day passes to use at another time or to upgrade to a different ticket at another time? :confused3

Does anyone understand my question or have I totally confused everyone? :rotfl2:

You can order you both 1 day tickets and she can upgrade and add more days at check in. Or I don't see why you wouldn't be able to change your ressy to have a 1 day ticket for you and a 5 day for her.

Everyone in the room has to have the same ticket.

Check to see whether one-day tickets are good enough to qualify for the promotion, though. I seem to remember reading that a minimum 3-day ticket purchase is required this time around, in order to get the dining.

According to my TA it's ok with a 1 day ticket, and I'm pretty sure I've read posts where people did purchase the 1 day. The "3" minimum is on the nights.

So, if we buy her a one-day MYW base ticket, she can upgrade at check-in to a 5-day hopper and the price she paid (around $65) will be applied to the hopper price?

I'll keep my one-day ticket to use at another time or upgrade at a later date. Thanks for the help!

Correct! We had 4 one day tickets in September. My daughter used 2 of them. Because my neice had a 10 day ticket. (it didn't matter about the finger scanning because they were only used once, the name on the card was not an issue). My son used one and my grandson didn't use his because he had an AP. I asked if I could use my grandson's one day ticket to apply it to my AP renewal and was told NO because it had my grandson's name on it. So we still have it tucked away and will use it the next time we get him an AP. I probably could've use it towards the value of a multiday ticket, but since it had his name on it (the keycard), he needed to be there. The OP should be OK. I find doing the upgrade easier at DTD, since it's a little more relaxed there, than at the Park guest relation windows (don't like talking through the glass).

On the other hand, would I be able to keep both 1-day tickets and use for an upgrade later? In other words, are they specified for a certain person or could I keep them to use another time? It would be cheaper for her to purchase her ticket in advance, so could I keep both one-days for myself to use later? Are they marked with her name? They won't be "scanned" with the biometrics because they are only 1-day passes and we won't be using them this trip in this case. I'm not trying to scam Disney, I just want to get my friend the best deal on her ticket. Thanks for your help.

The tickets purchased as part of a package will be issued on your resort key card, and thus will indeed have each person's name on them. We asked about having our tickets separate from our key card last Fall, and were told "No." To the best of my knowledge, that policy has not changed, but it never hurts to ask again at check in.

I was told by TA at Small World Vacations, this was not allowed. My husband and I went last year, have 6 days left on non-expiring ticket. 3 Kids will need tickets, wanted to book MYW with dining and 1 day tickets, but upgrade kids to 6 days upon arrival. This would save me a lot of money especially with free dining. Let me know
