Ticket expirations

First it was Disney doing away with no-expiration tickets(of which I still have some) back a few years ago. Then, I was still able to purchase 4 day(5th day free) tickets last year which I could keep for future use as they did not expire until I first used them.

Now it appears that Disney has done away with those tickets also, as the new tickets say that they must be used by 12/31/2018 or they need to be turned in for new passes( at the new higher price).

Is there nothing sacred with Disney...what else do they need to take from me ???

Correct.

However, it MIGHT be that the expiration date for currently-purchased tickets is actually 12/31/2019.
(It can depend on which disclaimer you read on the WDW ticket site.)

(This "new" ticket expiration situation has been in place for nearly a year, now.)

I still have 2 days left on an old non-expiring ticket. Yes, we've been to WDW a few times since they stopped selling them, but for shorter trips (~4 days) so it just made more sense to buy 4 or 5 day tickets and hold on to the non-expiring ones until we go on a longer trip. Well this year is the longer trip. I'll be sad to see them finally used up.
