DH has 7 days left on a 10 day non ex. PH that we bought in Feb. We just purchased dvc and will be staying at ssr later this month. Can he apply the value of the 7 day ticket to an AP and still get the dvc discount??? If so I believe the AP would cost us very little extra $.Too good to be true? TIA

I dont' think you can do that, but I'm not absolutely sure. You can check the DVC member website...

If you go to guest relations at disneyworld you should be able to.

Just to let you know they will prorate your hopper so you might not get as much as you expected.

Generally Disney won't allow 2 discounts but in this situation I'm told you can trade one ticket for one AP AND get the discount. Frankly with the non expiring pass, I'd just keep it and buy the AP, saving the other ticket for a future date that it would make more sense. I think you'd be far better off financially in the long run.

I agree with Dean's suggestion as we will be keeping our current non-expiring PH passes for a future trip and will just be buying the new AP in two weeks when we are there. I have heard that the first few days of use on the ticket are given more value than the latter days. I will test this theory out as I will still be taking the PH tickets since we have some plus days available and I will have GR check the value I would get for an upgrade. This is the only way to check the value of the tickets. They will not provide any information over the phone.

I checked the value of the MYW tickets I had left over from last year, 2 adult 4 days + 4 plus, one child 4 + 4 and one child 5 + 4. We paid about $1200 for the tickets last year and had a little less than half the days left on them. I almost fell over when the person at GR told me the combined value of the tickets was under $200, I want to say it was only $128 :scared1: . If you have any left over tickets do not upgrade them as it is not in your best interest. You are definitely better off using your old non-expiring tickets for another trip than to upgrade them to an AP.

That's absolutely correct, and the reason is the extra fees for having them be non-expiring. If you notice on the MYW ticket price list, the price is highest up to 4 days. After 5 days, the added cost is basically a dollar a day. I suspect they consider your first 4 days used to be those expensive days, so your last 6 on a 10 day MYW isn't going to be worth much.

Disney does not prorate the value of the multiday MYW tickets in the same manner as they did the old park hopper tickets.

MYW tickets are heavily front loaded. For example, the last few days of a partially used 10 day MYW ticket might be worth as little as $7 or $8!

Anyone wanting to apply the value of a partially used MYW pass to the purchase of an AP or PAP should ask the CM for the remaining $$ value before deciding to complete the transaction. It will almost always be a better value to save the MYW ticket for another trip.

Best wishes -

I agree check first.

You will also want to check several locations before you make your decision. With an old park hopper I was given almost nothing at the Epcot entrance over by BW, but I was given $170 at Epcot's front entrance, and got nearly an even trade over at Downtown Disney. I couldn't believe that there could be such a difference from one place to another! :confused3
