Ticket Discounts

Why does Disney offer ticket discounts for Florida residents? Why can't I buy Park Hopper tickets online and say I live in Florida and have then shipped to my home? I know I sound completely cheap but I do not understand the Florida resident discount...

well we live here and we go a lot more often then out of state tourists. Most visitors come here during school breaks and holidays where we may go during the weekend or for dinner or just for a dole whip! Our tickets are cheaper but in the long run we will spend twice as much money in the parks.

I'm sorry that you don't think it's fair but that's the way it is. Besides you don't have to deal with the traffic and the expense of living close to the mouse house.

And as a part-time CM and Disneyana Collector I spend more money at WDW in a month than I earn there. And that is even with getting into the parks free and having a discount on my purchases.

it's not unique either. if you look at a lot of the southern california attractions, they offer discounts to residents as well.

if you have a free saturday and have a choice of which attraction to visit, you're probably not going to the one that's effectively penalizing you for living near it.

oh and it's not exclusive to Disney either.........Sea World, Universal, Busch Gardens etc ALL offer discounts to us residents.

Because you will get a voucher, not the actual ticket. You will then have to exchange the voucher at a WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations location and present a valid photo ID showing Florida residency for each adult ticket you want.
