Not sure if this belongs in the DVC forum, but I’ll start here because my underlying question could apply to any promotion involving discounted tickets tied to an on-property stay:

So there’s a new promotion for DVC members (not the package deal Deni reported on yesterday) whereby if you book a stay of four nights or more and buy park tickets, you get two free days added onto those tickets.

I have a 7-day trip already booked (on points) for this coming Feb. I also bought four 7-day PH tickets for the stay.

Do you suppose if I called in, CS would rebate me the two-day difference between a 5-day and a 7-day ticket?

I know the price differential between a 5-day and 7-day ticket isn’t huge (~ $35), but across four tickets, that’s $140. Won’t make or break me, but if I found $140 lying on the street, I sure as heck wouldn’t walk by it.

Worth a call? Or a non-starter?

Oh my god I literally just bought tickets yesterday. Do you have a link to this?

Found it:
Enjoy more of the magic you love when you buy a non-discounted 4-day Walt Disney World theme park ticket with a valid 4-night Disney Vacation Club Member reservation and receive 2 extra days added to your ticket. This offer is valid for arrivals through September 25, 2021.

Yup.

Ask nicely.

@Robo - sorry, forgot to ask:

This issue kind of straddles two worlds. Where do you suggest I start when making calls? DVC Member Services, or the “Existing Tickets” number?

Please and thank you

Whichever has the shortest wait to be answered. 👍

since it has to be connected to a DVC Reservation, I would call Member Services.

Thanks. But pretty much anyone in the call center, including whoever I reach by dialing “Existing Tickets,” should be able to pull up my res and see it’s DVC, right?

I would still call member services. Interested on how you make out. I have 3 day passes for end of Feb/first week of March & would totes add on a day to this to get the "deal".

Did you find that on the DVC website or the normal WDW website?

I called the regular number to buy a DVC discount AP when everything was crazy in the spring where Member Services was constantly busy. They couldn’t help me, they said I had to call DVC.

For those who are curious, I was told that this promotion was only for the purchase of a 4-day ticket (which would then be plussed-up to a 6-day ticket). So, @patclairesmom - it is exactly as you suspected. You can't buy a 5-day and plus it up to 7-day, or a 6 to an 8. And as it follows, you can't buy a 7-day and get two days rebated back to you.

The CM said she could have refunded the difference between my 7-day and 4-day, then changed my ticket to a 4-day, and then plussed it back up to a 6-day. But I wasn't willing to give up that seventh day on property.

Honestly, I don't know why they limited this solely to a 4-day ticket. The price differential in the tickets is nothing compared to the revenue they'd get from two extra days of guests remaining on property and spending money.

(Edited) The reason why they won't allow you to simply have two free days is because this promo is a cookie crumb tossed to DVC members to keep them quiet. They really don't are if it's useful, they just want to be seen doing something.

I wish they would just bring back APs. I have 2 reservations for 2021 but there is no way I’ll pay for passes for each trip. If there are no APs I'll skip my spring trip (even if I could get vaccinated) because there is no way I'll spend $1400 on two 10-day passes when I can would otherwise be eligible for a Gold AP for $765.

They are already lowering dues for next year, so I’m not sure we DVC members really needed to be mollified further (and for the record, I am well aware that they didn’t lower dues out of the goodness of their heart).

I’m not sure the promo is a “cookie crumb” as much as it is a “lure” to keep people on property longer. The $25 Disney might lose in ticket revenue would easily be made up for (and then some) with two extra days of food, incidental spending and maybe the purchase of one-time use DVC points to cover the lodging for the two extra days.

I bought a 7 day ph ticket for my nine year old for late april at undercover tourist using the mousesavers newsletter link for $577. A 5 day ph ticket would cost $580 on the disney website. I still ended up paying about the same as a 5 day ticket from disney with two free days added on.
So I essentially got this deal by buying tickets elsewhere. I haven't bought regular park tickets from disney in years.

I am more annoyed about being unable to get her an ap because both my wife and I have unactivated ones and we were planning on going again in October.
