I ordered a child's 3 day PH from Ticketmania and just received it today. When I looked at the ticket, I discovered it was an adult 3 day PH. I called them right away and they told me to keep the ticket and just use it for the child's admission. Has anyone had any experience with this? Using an adult ticket for a child? Should I expect any problems from the ticketCMs at the parks?

Hi Auntie K!

I just did a search on "child using adult ticket" and found a post that had a couple of children (age 7) using adult passes, and they got into the parks just fine. Hope you have a fun trip! :flower:

I don't see it as a big deal, Ticketmania must think it would cost them more to get you a new ticket fast enough rather than let you use the more expensive ticket.

About the only "problem" I could see....children don't have to do the hand scan. So the CM at the gate will have to manually release your ticket each time, unless your dc is old enough to do a hand scan.

You were charged for the child's ticket right?

If so - go, and use the adult ticket. You'll be fine.

Yes, they charged me for the child's ticket, but sent the adult one by mistake. I just didn't want to have a problem at the gate trying to use the wrong ticket.

You'll be fine then.

If any questions are asked, explain the situation to the Cast Member. But that won't happen. You'll get in no problem. :)

Use it yourself (or save it for future use) and buy a new child ticket when you get there. Quietly.

Children can do the finger scan if they can reach the scanner. The reason why child tickets do not current require the finger scan is that children's fingers may grow between successive vacations when the pass is used, resulting in different readings.

Yeah, I know that kids don't have to do a fingerscan, but I was noting that when a child's pass is put into the machine, it immediately pops all the way through. When an adult's pass is put into the machine, it waits until the finger scan is completed before shooting the pass through and releasing the bar. So I guess the CM will have to manually release the pass each time. If you find this happening, you could say something to the CM as you approach the turnstile. If you're pushing your child in a stroller, they will take care of it for you anyway.

Really, though, for 3 days it shouldn't be that much or a pain even if you do a fair amount of hopping.
