We are planning a trip 12/18 - 12/23 (2A, 1J, 1C). I was originally scheduling everything around going to MVMCP on 12/18. Our flight arrives at 10:00 am, and we would not use MYM tickets that day, just planned on arriving at MK around 4:00 for the party. For the 4 of us MVMCP will run $137.80. I just realized that we could add an extra day onto our passes for about $3 each and spend a full day in the parks instead of waiting until 4:00. We have never done MVMCP but have been to MNSSHP and really enjoyed it. I'm just not sure it is worth it with the new MYW ticket pricing.

Any advise???

MVMCP is a fun event and is different and you get to stay late in the park, which if you do the other option you have to leave by 7PM I believe. I would just buy the MVMCP tickets and wait until 4 and enjoy the time relaxing between when you get to the hotel and when you have to head over to the park, eat a lunch etc. The time will fly by.

In my opinion, I wouldn't spend the extra money. By the time you get to the hotel and check in and settle in and maybe get yourselves together, going to MK for 4pm will be perfect. We did this 2 years ago. Worked great for us.

MVMCP is a whole 'nuther animal from just some extra time in the MK. You should definitely do it, it's very worth the price of the tickets.

As for the earlier part of the day, I would just wait and see what time it is when you're checked in and would be ready to go out to a park. If you've got a few hours and some energy to burn, you could easily upgrade your tickets, either right then or just go ahead and use a day and upgrade sometime later in your stay (you can do that anytime within 14 days of first use of the passes). $3/person is a really cheap way to get in some more parks time, so if you feel like it, do it!

Just did MNSSHP --13 of us. The ticket cost was hard to justify, but I'm glad we did.

Since it's "just" 4 of you, I'm sure you could make it to the MK in time to soak in some atmosphere. There's also something to be said for a little down time to rest and relax before the big night. Me? I'd go!

Gotta go with the consensus and recommend taking your time, getting settled in, and trying to rest up a bit before MVMCP. Travel takes more out of you than you think and even though you'll be chomping at the bit to get into the park, taking it a little easy may pay off with a better experience that evening. If after unpacking everyone is really ready to get started, maybe you can do a little "resort hopping" around the monorail resorts - take a boat ride around the seven seas lagoon, take a short stroll out to the poly beach, go up to the observation deck at CR, etc. Bottom line is that if you buy the extra ticket you'll be looking at your watch the whole time (and what if your flight is delayed?) and trying to press yourselves to get into the park - the extra stress won't be worth it.
