I have an unused 5 day park hopper ticket. I want to 'upgrade' it to a DVC annual pass. I would prefer not to renew my annual pass, rather just get a new one, because of dates.

I called MS and they told me that I had to upgrade at Guest Services. Is there any other way?

Problem is I am going first week of March, and if I have to wait to upgrade my ticket when I get there, I can only make 5 days worth of fast pass ressies when I will be there for like 9 days.

Any suggestions?

That's correct, you can only upgrade in person. I would just make the fastpasses for the 5 days you want to get the more hard to get fastpasses and make the rest after you upgrade. Or buy annual passes and save the hoppers.

As PP said, that is what DVC told me to do. I called Ticket Service and they were able to change my 5 day park hopper into a DVC annual pass! They did ask me where I had gotten the 5 day (which was direct thru disney) etc.
The CM had trouble finding the ticket at first (I got a lot of junk in my MDE) but once she did, it was no problem. Just an FYI. Makes my trip planning easier
