OK, I just got back from BCV. I thought I had it all planned out. Obviously, I missed something, somewhere.

My DH and I left on Friday to Orlando. He was staying until Sunday, and I was staying until Thrusday.

Well, when I made the ressie, I made it for one, not thinking that DH would go. Then he decided to attend for the weekend.

When we arrive, I had requested a 12:30 check in. Ha, ha! Didn't happen. Then, I had purchased a Prem. Annual Pass and was going to purchase a 2 night UPH for DH. Ha, ha again. I could ONLY purchase a pass for length of stay of the ressie. So, I had to buy him a 4 day hopper pass. Then we planned to go to PI one night, and that was another $17 bucks for that pass. So, what I thought would cost me $152, now cost me $225.

We decided to go and eat at Beaches & Cream and come back and check the room. At 1:45, still no room. So we go to AK. When we arrive back at the BCV, our room is now ready at 5:25 and we want our luggage. They would not let us pick it up ourselves, we had to go to the room and wait for it. Fortunately, they were prompt with the deliver. We had a 6:30 PS at Fulton's for dinner, and were afraid it was going to be close.

It seemed like everytime I asked someone if they took either the DVC or PAP for discounts, I got turned down. Now I read that I should have gotten a discount at Fulton's but she said that since they were not Disney, they didn't take the Disney discounts. She must have been confused!

Then when I went to the World of Disney, they only took the PAP or Disney Club card. DVC was not help at all.

I was frustrated by these few incidents, and all in all my trip was great, but I wish that Disney and DVC could make life a little easier and give us more consistent discounts so that you don't have to carry around a folder to figure out who will accomodate you.

:crazy2:

While I agree a consistent discount policy would be nice...
DVC has never been eligible for discounts at World of Disney...only Disney Club and AP. DVC Discounts apply to "off-site" Disney Stores.

The DVC Discounts are negotiated seperately from both Disney Club and AP discounts. I'm sorry your server at Fulton's wasn't familiar with the available discount, that is why it is wise to carry your pocket-sized info book with you. Should you need to? No, but at the same time it is not DVC's or Disney's responsibility to train Fulton's employees. Documentation is important sometimes. :( UHP passes are simply the new name for a Length of Stay pass, and yes, must be for the length of the entire ressie, even if the party using the pass is arriving late or departing early. (One day allowing for Arrival or Departure may be dropped.)

As far as early resort check-in, that has never been guaranteed - we've often had to wait until 4:30 or 5, even at a large resort like OKW...of course, it is great when we get lucky and are allowed in early.

AP Discounts are detailed in the AP cover jacket.
DVC Discounts are the "pocket book" or on the members website.
Disney Club discounts are on their website (endng Dec 31)

DVC check-in is after 4:00pm. On Thanksgiving weekend, a high occupancy time, an early room ready should not be expected.

There is not a DVC discount at World of Disney.

The discount at Fultons is only on lunch.

DVC does have a little card called "pocket perks" which you can carry around with you that lists discounts. You can get one at the front desk, they should have given it to you at check-in.

Now, see, I didn't know Fulton's discount was only for lunch :p
Although I would probably have checked prior to eating there, I just haven't wanted to dine there :)

If you had 6:30 p.m. PS at Fulton's Crab House, that's dinner, not lunch. The discount is only at lunch:
<blockquote>Fulton's Crab House

Located on the riverboat between Downtown Disney Marketplace and Downtown Disney Pleasure Island. For Priority Seating, please call 407-934-BOAT (2628)*. There's usually no problem getting the documented DVC discounts. But if it's not in the Member Perks list, then there's no discount -- even at places at might provide AP or Disney Club discounts.

It appears you did not miss any discounts you should have gotten. The staff at many of the destinations that offer discounts are frequently unaware so you should always know them. Even the info they have at check in is frequently behind the times. Last time I was there, there were two rounds of discouns not listed on the paperwor. While the second round was understandable as it was only listed on the member website for a day or two prior, the other had been announed 6-8 weeks prior. I'd print out the list and take it with you.

When we arrive, I had requested a 12:30 check in. Ha, ha! Didn't happen.

That would rarely happen anyway. Check in time is 4 p.m. You can request earlier, but if they can't do it, they can't do it.

How was your room and view at BCV and how was the balance of your trip?

Was Fulton's good for dinner?

thanks
