Ticket$ are going up how much?$$$

In the past the package rates were locked in through the end of the calendar year. The increases in ticket prices and room rates are not reflected in the packages until the new year.

It's always possible Disney will change this, but I don't think it's likely because it has contractual obligations on its package prices with a lot of wholesalers (Costco, AAA, etc.) that are by calendar year.

Not UT, when ever the prices go up UT will only have a small number of tickets left in inventory at the old price. Two years ago after the Aug increase they only had tickets at the old price for few days.

Last year I think Disney surprised everyone and they had a larger stock at the old price.

I think you're confusing what I wrote. I am talking about VACATION PACKAGES only. Disney has annual contracts with the big vacation wholesalers (Costco, AAA, etc.) for PACKAGES, not individual tickets.

You are correct about Undercover Tourist -- they are not a PACKAGE wholesaler. They sell only individual tickets, and they will only have so many of those at the old prices when the wholesale price they pay goes up.

Thanks for the links. I can't believe a one day pass to Disney was $3.50 in 1971! Amazing.

Remember this was in the days of the ABCDE ticket books, which also cost money. Still, I get your point.

I have 2 five day - tickets from 1990 which cost $117 - each with three days left. At that time all multi-day tickets were park hoppers and there were 3 parks - MK, Epcot, and MGM Studios (now HS).

Based on past years, if you plan to buy a 2012 package, you don't have to do anything at all right now. It doesn't matter whether you buy a 2012 package today or a month from now or in December. Unless something has changed this year, the price increases for packages won't hit until January 1, because they are locked in for the calendar year.

I do appreciate the info from all ticket buyers and future buyers. I see 4 tickets in my immediate future. I do have a Disney Visa to help get some dollars back. Besides since we are going in August 2013, I am really going to save on two price increases most likely. Ya gotta save were you can, I just hope everything works out and they are used when planned.
