Hi,

We are attending the D23 expo in august and wondering how busy the parks are going to be, we are thinking of coming the sat before and heading to Disneyland for a couple of days. Also are there any good places to get discount tickets for the 2 days?

Thanks

Nathan

2 Day tickets rarely have discounts because resellers have little margin to work with. DL itself would rather give you a discount on 3 day or longer tickets as well.

Summer is always a bit busy so expect crowds but nothing major.

The typical ticket retailers (AAA, getawaytoday.com, etc) don't sell 2 day passes, only 3+. Your best bet is trying your local credit union. That's the only place I've heard of that may sell discounted 2 day tickets.

Thanks for the info, we are coming for a week staying at worldmark anaheim. I am wondering if its a better deal to get the 3 day ticket, do you need 3 days or can each park be done in a day? Its been about 4 years since we visited Disneyland and not too much seems new, we used to go to Dworld twice a year until the recent quality drop.

I guess I need some opinions about how many days to go to the park. At least it doesn't seem it will overly busy with the D23 expo.

Thanks for all your help and info. These boards are great, booked a cruise for 2012 after finding the info here first. (Saved me a bundle)

"Three is the magic number" when it comes to suggested length of stay around here. Since it's not your first visit, you can get away with two, but I would recommend catching World of Color since you haven't seen that since it opened, and that requires some time (time to get a FP in the morning, an hour to line up with your FP to get a good spot, and 30 minutes to actually watch the show).

The other perk of having a 3-day instead of a 2-day is that you will get one Magic Morning entry included with your ticket. Right now a 2-day park hopper is $161 and a 3-day is $186 if you buy online. I'd think the extra $25 would be worth being able to get a MM entry as well as giving you the ability to even just go to the parks for a few hours on the day you arrive or day you leave.

Like SonnayJane said 3 days is the magic number. Really the minimum suggested if you want to take it all in. Not only as she noted will WoC take up some time. So will a couple attractions. I'm guessing you won't want to miss out on the new Star Tours and Little Mermaid and they could take a couple hours each. Also I'd suggest a ride on Mickey's Fun Wheel, just to take in the birds eye view of the emerging Carsland.

If you are a So.Cal resident, check out Costco.com

4-day park hopper for $199 (with a $50 gift card) if you live in So.Cal. The 4-days are good through the end of August 2011.

I would do a minimum of three.

It's summer.
You haven't been in 4 years.
D23 is happening (and you won't be the only one including fun at the Park in your plans).

Dare I even suggest 4? Okay, 3. :goodvibes
