I have an amazing opportunity to house sit for a friend in May for 9 days. She lives about 10 minutes away from Downtown Disney. :woohoo: My question is, I don't know what I should about tickets? We normally go in September and do a MYW package with 10 day park hopper and free dining. Even with the trip in May, we may still go back in Sept. and stay on property(not even sure yet how long we would stay--may just do a week then). We probably would not go to a park all 9 days in May. Would it be cheaper to purchase an annual pass and just purchase the dining plan if we want it in Sept? (since we would not be able to get free dining with the annual pass but we probably would get some kind of room discount). I am thinking it would. Also is there any way to get any type of discount on an annual pass? I don't think I put any of this very clearly but I hope someone understood :)

Too many factors to take into consideration.

What level of resort would you be staying at? A room discount on a deluxe CL room is going to be worth more than a std. view at a value resort.

How many people would you have to buy the dining plan for? How many are Disney adults?

Then there is the actual cost of tickets themselves. How many days would you visit the parks in May? How many in Sept.? If you were to purchase separate tickets (with expirations) for each trip, would they cost more or less than an annual pass?

There is no set formula for figuring this out. You really have to sit down with a calculator and crunch the numbers yourself.

Don't forget with an AP you can get Tables in Wonderland for TS discounts.

Get the annual pass, it will save money on parking when you are there in May ($14 a. Day). Then when you go in september just book a 2 day expiring pass with free dining and dont use it. Since its not used it wont expire and you can upgrade it some other time.

Cannot answer the question with so many "mays" and "probablys" in your description.

You need to cast your schedule in stone before you can figure out the cheapest ticket alternative. Specifically, if you buy the annual pass in May and fail to make the trip in September then the AP might not be worthwhile.

A slight change in schedule can produce a big change in the kind of ticket that would be cheapest.

Twelve days is the approximate break even point for an annual pass.
