Ticket Activation?

I just bought my MYW Tickets at the Disney Store for our trip in December (thanks to my tax refund). I know it is still early, but I didn't want to end up spending the money on anything else. When I got my receipt, there was a toll-free number on it saying to call by September 2005. When I asked the store manager if I had to call that number to activate the tickets, she didn't know. So I called the number but basically it is just an automated information line.

I am thinking it is just to help in planning. Am I right? My tickets should be activated on the first day that I use them right? :confused3

TIA!

When we bought our tickets for our Jan. trip, the girl at the store told me to keep the tickets separate from the receipt in case they get lost. They can replace the tickets with the receipt. We just used them as normal and "activated" them when we put them in the machine at Epcot.

Some "generic" Magic Your Way tickets are activated by the clerk at The Disney Store to have the number of days you purchased. Prior to such activiation the tickets might hang from a rack out in the open and have no value if simply pilfered.

Some tickets in The Disney Store are already activated but the denomination you want might be out of stock.

After you buy the ticket you simply start using it in the turnstiles when you get to WDW.

When you purchase an annual pass in advance you receive a voucher that needs to be turned in at WDW Guest Relations for the actual annual pass.
