I have the mousesavers link and am about to buy my tickets.

I want to buy the discounted tickets and then upgrade to dvc PAP once at disney

which deal will save me the most?

It looks like this one will?

Park Hopper + Water Park Fun & More (Fun Visits) (8 day) - No ExpirationSAVE $48 off gate price

I am planning to buy some this week

I will also need one child ticket dvc pap..which ticket should I get for that?

Just don't buy a ticket that has a face value (not what you paid, but what it's actually sold for through Disney) greater than the price of the DVC-discounted pass you want. You may not get a refund.

As for what is the best deal, you'd have to crunch the #s for various scenarios, but generally, whichever ticket price has the most discount from the 3rd party seller, that should be the one you want, with the caveat I stated above.

I am researching the same thing!!!

We are a family of 4, need 3 (10+ tickets) and 1 (9-).

We are also looking at the PAP, love the water parks!!

I think that we will purchase through UT the 7 day, Park Hopper, WPFM, No exp. (saves $39 per ticket)

The gate price on these are $1828.68, so below the DVC PAP price. So (if I am doing this right) we should save around $153!! :woohoo:

The 8 day, will go over the price for the DVC PAP.

Does anyone know if they will give a refund?

Although it happens sometimes (it happened to me), the policy is no refunds per the ticketing CMs that post on the Theme Parks board. So I wouldn't risk it.

Thanks Vicki, I don't want to chance it so I will just get the 7 day tickets. I did find the link through mousesavers and saved even more!!!

That will leave more money for "adult" drinks!! :woohoo:

I am going to post my story again...

I did this. NEVER AGAIN!

Step 1 use ticket CHECK
Step 2 Go to Guest Relations and trade in ticket
Step 3. Look at back of ticket and realize that they backdated the AP to a MONTH prior to the first day I used it. Back to Guest Relations....Turned out they did ticket based on the date it was printed for Undercover Tourist.
Step 4. Do math. Realize that I was charged MORE then I would have if I had just bought AP.
Step 5 Go back to Guest Relations with receipt. Told that I owed difference between what Undercover Tourist paid and the price of an AP. Nicely pointed out that it was not MY FAULT that they gave Undercover Tourist a discount. Finally got another person who realized ticket was not bought to "gate"

So THREE trips to Guest Relations.... Not worth it LOL!

So. If I finally use my one day pass that was issued 2 years ago and then try to get an AP, will they try to back date the pass to 2007? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Seriously, using the one day passes shouldn't be a hassle, right?

Just exactly how much money is this saving you? Show your math please! :rotfl2:

I just can't believe it's enough to even make it semi-worth the hassle. Relative to the cost of the vacation, is it really worth it? Seriously.

I wound up saving something like $30? And you are right it was NOT worth the hassle!

there are 5 of us and we could save around $200, so yes going back to ticket window 3 times could be worth it

Is the PAP $499 with the DVC discount? Also, does that include tax or not? If you have to add tax, what is the percent?

If you have to add tax, you might be better off going with an 8-day. Sorry, I can't tell until I know the answers to these questions.

Assuming those 3 times end up working out in your favor. ;)

Granted some of us value our time too much, I guess, but on vacation, especially, no way it would be worth it to us but that's just us. :)

I figure a week at WDW costs me roughly 4-$5k. Doesn't leave many $200 problems, at least for me.

allears says this under the dvc heading

Premium Annual Pass $504.81 $445.17

I have no clue what this means on allears?

"DVC Premium Annual Pass Tourist Charter"

and the ticket I listed at mousesavers

are 458.95 adult $ 429.95 kids

so that is less than a dvc pap...right?

so no worry about overpaying and losing money?

$48 off seemed to be the highest without going over

have I got the figures right?

are PAP DVC really $504. now?

ok looking again I guess I didn;t compare what the tickets are worth, not just what UT was selling them for so 7 day park hopper no expire with water with no discount are worth $466 and on sale for $421 so this would save me the most at $44 off

am I catching on correctly now?:confused3

Be sure to review This Thread which is a comprehensive explanation of the WDW ticket system, as explained by a CM.

Section #7 (post #7) explains upgrading from a MYW ticket to an AP.

Well, $44 placed next to $48 is only 4 away from eachother and therefore the negative inversion of 10 is 1, therefore it definitely worth it!!:confused3
