Tick, tock... lunch & dinner

What time do most of the restaurants switch from their lunch menus to their dinner menus? (Last week in August, if that makes a difference)

We'd like to have late lunches to save some money, but we don't want to be too late!

I believe it varies from restaurant to restaurant..but, if memory serves, it is always sometime between 3 and 4. When you call to make your reservation, you can always ask for the last available lunch seating. That's what we usually do. Perhaps someone else can be a little more helpful/precise?

I also think it's between 3 and 4 PM - you'll have to ask, though because it does vary by restaurant.

I believe that, along with the menus, if you check out allearsnet.com you should find the times for breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Click on the dining option on top and then menus a little towards the middle of the next page.

The lunch and dinner times are not on the allears menus, but you can see which restaurants have different menus for lunch and dinner. The Unofficial Guide 2004 does list times for lunch and dinner. Most restaurants stop serving lunch at 3 p.m., some as early as 2:45 others 3:30 p.m. Then most start serving dinner at 4:30.

Does anyone know what happens if you go in between 3 and 4:30? Will they seat you or are they closed? Will you get charged dinner prices?
