Anyone but me surprised that the point costs for THV is the same as a 2 bdr? I was thinking that it would be higher than that. With all the point reallocations it was nice to get a pleasant surprise.

My understanding is they are the same because they have similar occupancy levels. A SSR 2 Bedroom sleeps up to 8 where the THV will sleep up to 9.

I'm surprised they weren't priced a LITTLE higher. I guess this is another example where DVC didn't let outright greed rule the day. By keeping those rooms the same as any other 2B at SSR--they can only help the long-term value of SSR points. If the treehouses were priced higher they wouldn't be viewed as favorably by owners and would be more accessible at 7 months.

There is a little give-and-take with the treehouses which probably contributed to their pricing. The master bedroom only has a queen bed. There are only two bathrooms, unlike some of the other newer 2Bs which have three bathrooms (not SSR, though.) The treehouses are more remote than most rooms. The bunk beds will be a positive for some and a negative for others.

We're pretty excited and can't wait to try them out!

There is a tradeoff when booking at THV. Depending on the location you can be somewhat removed from the rest of the resort. The pools & Artist Palette may be a bit far away for some.

I'd love to see them offer golf cart rentals like they do at Fort Wilderness. I think it would be popular with the members renting the tree houses and bring Disney a nice little earner at $15 a day ( which is what I think the Fort Wilderness cost is) . Might need a little reworking on the parking lot to accommodate 50 or 60 golf carts close to the main pool/restaurant area but I think it wouldn't be hard to do.

I was very surprised. I thought the points would be somewhere between a two bedroom and a Grand Villa.

Dennis-

The FW golf carts rent between $45 and 50 per day! Too rich for my budget.

There aren't any plans to offer golf cart rentals for the treehouses. I think transportation is just one of the things folks will have to factor into their decision whether to stay there or not.

That's a shame about the lack of golf carts. Back in the days of the Disney Village, folks (especially treehouse folks) rented carts to get around. Bummer.

In addition yo what others have mentioned I think they are priced point wise the way they are due to their square footage being more in line with a two bedroom as well.

Due to sleeping occupancy, square footage, the remoteness of their location, the pool, (unless they are making changes I have not heard about), then I think they priced them correctly.

I am sure though if we bring it up, DVC would be glad to raise them. ;)

No king bed - they should have the same points as a studio. ;)

Will you check in at SSR for THV? Is there a cart path for the CM's to transport your luggage? The THV look sooo cool, but there seems to be some major questions still unanswered. At least I haven't seen our heard.

Check-in is at SSR's Carriage House. Bell Services will be able to use their standard luggage carts to assist guests in the treehouses.

Most manor questions I've heard raised about the treehouses seem to have been answered at this point. Disney doesn't usually get into minutia like bus routes and boat schedules before any resort opens. Are there specific issues that you are still curious about?
