Its now official, THV point chart is out on DVCMEMBERS.COM. Look under 2009. Same pts as a two bedroom.

Why can't I find this? I just downloaded the chart for Saratoga and it still looks the same. No THV. I clicked the view vacation points chart under plan vacation. Is it somewhere else?

THV is a great addition to SSR, and the fact that the points are the same as a 2br is even better. With 3 kids and some times taking in-laws or my parents it makes it so much easier with that 3rd bedroom, but at the same pt cost. I just want to see the logicistics of getting from the THV to SSR main pool, bus stops, local pool, etc. I think a lot of walking might be included. Hopefully they will put a boat stop for going to SSR, OKW, and DTD. We were there last month and you could see them being built along the channel while riding the boat from OKW to DTD.

That's my concern aswell. I wonder how long it will take to have all of the extra stuff built with the THVs. For example, a dock, pools, etc.

I'd like to try them this summer but I don't want to be stranded over there with no pool.:scared: In august!:scared1:

there will be a pool - there are a couple now.

don't remember seeing a hot tub - so they will need to build those.

Thanks a bunch for the Info it sure looks good on paper :cool1: :cool1:

I'm so excited about this. I always wanted to stay there years ago but never go a chance and now to have the 11th month booking advantage what a treat.

I read somewhere that we can book in Feb of 09 can any one confirm the date.??

Logistics & transportation are my concerns as well since we don't usually have a car.

Won't the pool(s) there just be smaller "quiet" pools? I know that's not what my DS will be looking for...

Many of the treehouses are closer to the main pool than rooms in Congress Park. The units closest to the road will be a bit further, but I personally don't view it as a deal killer. You can walk from CP to the pool in less than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.

I wouldn't view a 10-12 minute walk from the treehouses as reason not to book. If it were a trip I had to make 3-4 times per day, that would be different. But for a couple of pool trips during the week, it's no big deal.

SSR owners can begin booking the treehouses on February 8, 2009. Non-members can star booking two weeks later.

I remember staying at the Disney Institute and the buses made the treehouse loop before pulling into the DI. Maybe THV become the next first bus stop for SSR.

Darn, DVC picked Feb 8th for the first booking date! We'll be on the Mendicino Coast where there is no cell phone service, not to mention the time difference to deal with as we're in CA. We're hoping to snag a couple of nights after the Wonder cruise on 11/15/09. Wish us luck!

When I was there last week (on a walk while GM rested) I followed that mysterious walkway from Grandstand (in front of building 91xx). Last year it ended at a blocked off footbridge over the golf course. This year the orange cones had been removed so I followed the bridge.

It led to a paved golf cart path directly into THV. In fact, I got right up next to a THV under construction and partitioned off only with a green makeshift construction fence. Through it I could see the pathway continued all throughout THV.

I could have just walked back the way I came but instead I followed the golf cart path down to my left. It took me along the edge of Grandstand (around hole 18) and then ended right in front of the club house, which is in the basement of the Carriage House and the back route to the ferry and Turf Club.

Since nothing blocks these pathways from foot traffic I speculated with SSR Front Desk staff how they'd keep THV guests from using it as a shortcut. They make it a much shorter trip to Carriage House than the other footbridge across the canal on the OKW walkway.

I was staying in Congress Park building 21xx throughout my trip so I did the trek to Carriage House often. Now I do get to cheat in my powerchair but I didn't find it that bad a hike. Only time it was a pain was when I was carrying groceries or hot food back to the room on my arm. (Hanging on the back of the chair was easy.)
