We love the idea of THV! We are only a family of four however, so as far as needing all of that space--well, we don't need it, but heck, we'll take it!
Pros we see of THV for us: there are no neighbors on the other side of the wall yelling at their kids, or kids doing the yelling, or banging around packing or unpacking late at night, there are no people/kids walking/running past your door really early in the morning or late at night talking, yelling, etc. We like the idea of it being removed from everything. We live in the country at home with over 130 acres of corn fields around us, so we like it quiet.
Cons we see for us: I wasn't impressed with the pictures I saw? They looked like they had the same furnishings they did when originally built...I know they aren't but don't really like the style (don't like BLT either--I'm more of a beachy laid back feel BCV or OKW) Obviously some people would not like the remote location of the villas. I'm also wondering about bugs since they are in the woodsy area and so close to the water. I've also heard that parking may become a challenge since there is only one space for each TH.
We have not stayed there yet, but plan to next summer. These are the things that we have taken into consideration.
I like the furnishings at SSR too. The resort has the high class/luxurious feel to it like Saratoga does. SSR is a very pretty resort, the High Rock Springs pool is very pretty. I know some people don't like the resort because of the size, but that has never bothered us, but we always have a car, traveling by WDW transportation alone would definately make me reconsider.
When we stay at THV next summer, it will be a split stay (we are staying for 2 weeks) and will probably only stay at THV for 4-5 nights. We really only need a 1 bedroom, so we don't need the space or to "pay" the higher point values. Our home resort is SSR and we really want to give them a try. We don't have high expectations going it, so I'm hopefully we'll be surprised and not disappointed.
Our family of 5(all adults) will be staying at a THV Sept. 6-11. We'll let you know how it is. I'm extremely excited about it. I've wanted to stay in a treehouse for YEARS.![]()

We just stayed in July. Alexander said it perfectly - the quiet is so nice. Seriously, not having yelling screaming families next door or in the hall was worth every single point.

First thing, THV is SSR. THV is a part of SSR. So you are asking for the difference between a THV and a two bedroom villa both at the same resort.
THV sleeps nine, two bedroom only sleeps eight.
Two bedroom has a king sized bed in the master bedroom, THV has a queen bed in the master bedroom.
You have as many parking places as you need outside your two bedroom villa. You only have one at THV.
Both only have two bathrooms. At THV they are smaller than in the two bedroom.
You can catch a bus to the theme parks from any two bedroom villa location. You have to take a bus to the Grandstand bus stop from THV to get a theme park bus.
There is a set of bunk beds at THV. No bunk beds in two bedroom villas.
There is a single sleeper chair at THV. There is no single sleeper chair in the two bedroom villa.
You can get a two bedroom villa close to a themed pool. There is no themed pool close to the THV (you'd have to go to the Grandstand).
We were thinking about trying a THV in a couple of years with some extended family and I'm sure there would be more than 1 car involved......but I would think to stay at THV's we'd need cars... Surely, with the units sleeping 9 there are many people with more than 1 car.
What are they making people do with the 2nd vehicle? Where do they have to park??We were thinking about trying a THV in a couple of years with some extended family and I'm sure there would be more than 1 car involved...
Thank you for the THV map! We're a group of 5 adults considering a THV for November. We need to book fast or they will be gone, and we're trying to soak up all the info we can get! It's just a short trip so we're trying to decide if it will be too time consuming to have to transfer buses at SSR from THV, or to walk over from THV to SSR, then wait for a bus. How was your experience with the time to get from THV to a park?
