Thunder Ranch at Halloween

I keep reading that there are special events that take place at Big Thunder Ranch during the Halloween season, but I'm not sure whether the BBQ is running during this time. We had a really good experience there a couple years ago, so I'd like to go back to eat.

Also, are there any other special Halloween menus or events at the restaurants I should know about before making reservations? Thanks! I'm very excited to be able to see the Halloween decor and fireworks this time!!

The Big Thunder Ranch is open during HalloweenTime. You can check on Disneyland.com's Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue webpage to see if they have reservation times available for your date and to see their operating hours.

Some of the dining locations will have a special Halloween dessert (in a cute souvenir demitasse). There might also be some seasonal items available, but they have not announced any this year (yet). There is a large area and the BBQ place just takes up a small portion of it. The entire ranch is not just the restaurant.

Girimama33 brings up a good point. The Halloween Carnival is separate from the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue and Big Thunder Ranch Petting Zoo area. You can't really see much of the Halloween Carnival from inside the Barbecue (some tables might see some), so you don't have to go to one to see the other. The Barbecue has some Halloween decor added during HalloweenTime. It is worth noting that the Carnival and the Barbecue are likely to have different operating hours (the Carnival often closes at sundown, but the Barbecue serves dinner).

The Mystic Magic Show is performing on the stage at the Halloween Carnival this year (in place of the Hillbillies).

Thanks for the clarification! I didn't realize there was more to the ranch. I guess I saw the petting zoo area before but didn't really care about that since we visit farms and zoos pretty often.
