So what's the deal w/ the TM refurbishment? Has it been going on for awhile, or just in the next week or so? What's going on w/ it?

I have seen rumors that it will incorporate fixing a couple features that haven't worked in a long while. Otherwise it just general maintnance that is schedule for about 10 days starting after the 3 day weekend.

Yes the refurbishment as been going on for several months but it was up and running today. I was sooooo trilled about it I even rode it twice.

I think you mean this in referrence to Splash Mountain, which opened Friday. Not Thunder Mountain which closes next week.
