Ok... there has been so much talk of good and bad experiences at the Poly. We are still looking into things but it would be nice if people could give us their thumbs up or down on their experience at the Poly and if they would go there again.

Loved the Poly! Loved being able to walk to the TTC and go anywhere, loved the tiki-torches at night, loved the Kona Cafe, and really really loved watching Wishes from the beach!:goodvibes The only thing I didn't love was how much it costs.

We've had 30 stays at the Polynesian and absolutely love it. Our first stay was in 1983 and our next is in October....can not wait!

Does that mean I get to vote 30 times?:confused3

i loved it! i've posted some threads about how great it was, you can search for my posts if you'd like. we had a great room location, great service, it was just overall awesome. and you can't beat the location and being on the monorail. our stay was very magical!

Through a great discount and then being moved from AKL we three adults only paid $163.84 per night including tax. Would I pay rack rate, NO! I was glad to have had the opportunity to stay there at such a cheap rate, heck that rate at AKL was great so for the Poly it was super great. I just don't think the Poly is worth the rack rate that they charge. Our room without tax for the three of us would have been $354.00. I would expect accomodations that were excellent, the Poly was good, not great! Give me another good discount, no more then $200.00 night with taxes and I would stay again but I would not pay more then that, it really is not worth it.

We had a great stay - plus was surprised at check-in to find out we were upgraded to concierge. A very magical stay - would definitely stay here again when enough $$$ saved up!

I stayed for the 1st time in August of this year. I've stayed at all but 3 WDW resorts and the Poly is my hands down favorite. Beautiful, relaxing, wonderful service, great location.

We really enjoyed the Polynesian; the grounds, buildings, rooms, restaurants, pools, main lobby, shops, transportation, etc. However, with the rising cost per night, it is hard to justify the price of a lagoon or Magic Kingdom view room. :(

I just just back from my first ever Poly stay and I loved it!!! I thought the Volcano pool was a bit too crowded. We loved just walking around the resort. My dd calls it the Tiki hotel - lol! We enjoyed Ohana's and Capt. Cooks. It did help a lot that we were upgraded to concierge when we checked in. I will say that having access to the concierge lounge and being on the free dining plan was too much food.

I don't even have to see the results to know what they are. The vast and overwhelming majority of DISers will say the Poly is just a step short of nirvana.

I've said it a million times, if you ask the DISers about the Poly, the response will be positive. If you ask them about X vs. The Poly, the poly will win. If you asked them if they'd rather step in dog poop at the Poly or X location, the Poly Dog Poop will win.

It's a great hotel, I'm not slamming it. It just, IMO, gets a little over-hyped on the DIS. It isn't quite as good as it is cracked up to be, that's all.

Uhm, Cool Beans, there is no dog poop at the Polynesian. Duck poop maybe, but definitely no dog poop.

If there was dog poop at the Polynesian I would prefer stepping in it to say stepping in dog poop at the Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge (We've stayed there too and the dog poop would not have been as nice as the Polynesian's dog poop).:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes, the Polynesian is a very nice Disney resort. It is quintessential Disney and is, along with only the Contemporary, the only resorts that have Walt's stamp. Is it expensive? Yup! Is it the best Disney has to offer, absolutely.

We loved our stay at the Poly this past April. The size of the room, the location, monorail, food options etc. If we could afford it, we would stay there every trip. Unfortunately the price will be forcing us away unless a super deal comes out.

I love the Poly but our trips there will be few and far between. I think $300+ a night is too much.

Love the Poly (MARRIED at the POLY)

Yes the duck poop is better at the Poly!

The time we have stayed there, we have always enjoyed it. We even stayed there during a hurricane, and were totally taken care of by the staff!!
