Someone told me that they now make you put your thumb print on the back of your ticket to make sure that you are the only person that is using your tick. It is not like I want someone eles to use my extra day but I was there in Sept of 04 and they did not do that. Is this something new this year?

That is false information. There would be an uproar if they so far as to keep your thumb print on file. They scan 2 fingers for some measurements but not your fingerprints.

WDW now has bioscans for index and middle finger. I don't know how it works but it would seem to me that it just records digitally (so to speak) your prints (or something). When you return that ticket is connected with those electronic prints if they match you get in, if not, oh well, hope the rest of your trip went well. There is no print directly on any ticket. If you have time remaining on a previous ticket (partially used or not) no scan is required. You just enter like you did before. I hope that answers your question.

Ticket Tag has nothing to do with your fingerprints - it is a bio-metric scan that measures the shape, length, etc of your fingers and encodes that info on your ticket. Started for all tickets in January of this year.

sorcerormickey is exactly right. Bio-metric scans measure length, width, etc of fingers and have nothing to do with prints. Everyone does it as of this year and there are even nice new signs at every turnstile telling you how to do this process. Some people have serious difficulty following pictoral directions.

Are you saying that everyone has different length and width fingers...no two are alike? And what if your still growing and over a couple of years they change or you gain or lose weight? Or your retaining water or have a hangnail and some swelling? There must be more to it than that!

It's not an exact measurement. It scans your index and middle fingers and uses a geometric formula to come up with a number that will identify your fingers. The calculated number is apparently something that is not totally unique, but is statistically significant in identifying you. It's just a way to try to keep people fair.

Just go to Guest Relations and they will override it for you. They will check ID and redo the scanner for you.
