Orlando313 - I've kept quiet up until now, but I feel I must say something ... Yes you are a newbie and asking questions is definitely OK, but please, as Macraven says "please play nice". Personally I thought you were "attacking" Metro as did others on this board, or we wouldn't have replied as we did. I know it's easy to take things out of context when reading someone's comments and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but in the future maybe don't be so confrontational in your responses. By saying "Everything that comes out of your mouth about Disney is very negative" is a personal attack in my opinion.

I would suggest the mods close this thread before it goes any further.

Bonny

I did not see anywhere in that thread where Metro had a negative comment about Disney crazy.

We are a very wlecoming group. Unfortunately the posts I have seen from you have all had a negative tone to them toward one of us or Universal. We will defend our friends and Universal. Sorry if that doesn't give you a warm fuzzy.

Well you haven't seen all of my posts then. Nothing more I can say to convince you guys. Works for me.

Everything that comes out of your mouth about Disney is very negative. Were you traumatized at Disney or something? I just don't understand all the negativity. Why can't Disney fans like Disney, and Universal fans like Universal? Why does it have to be, you have to like my favorite or else.:sad2:
I'm sorry you think the term "Disneyphile" is bad term...maybe it is...but once you've been on the DIS long enough, you will see what type of person I'm talking about. These are people who think nothing bad happens at Disney and Disney does no wrong in any respect...that's just not true. My first trip to Disney was in 1975 and have been going ever since. I've held an AP for the past five years and go quite often. Most of the people who I think of as "Disneyphiles" do not live in the area and only come down for a short period and then they leave. These are the people who only see Disney a few weeks out of the year while you and I can go whenever we want. I see quite a bit at Disney these people simply do not want to admit takes place and that's blind loyalty. These are also the same people who will flame you if you say anything bad about their beloved Disney empire. I see things about Disney differently but I still enjoy going to the parks. These are also the same people who bad mouth Universal simply because it's not Disney and most have not ever set foot on the property yet they will join the majority and say things that are just not true. I will admit...Disney puts on a good show and that's what you're paying for...right?
actually, Metro holds an AP to WDW.... and Universal.... Since he goes to both parks regularly, I think he's the last person I'd know to 'slam' either park.
If I didn't like Disney, I sure wouldn't spend $400.00 to renew my pass every year...now would I?

His favorite ride, and correct me if I'm wrong Metro, is Haunted Mansion. Which last time I checked is on Disney property
Correct Tricia...the HM is my favorite attraction at any park any where...always has been and probably always will be.

I appreciate all the concern from the homies on the board. I think we need to welcome Orlando313 and keep him/her around. He/she needs to understand how the DIS works and how some people respond to posts...both on the Universal side and the Disney side...which he/she will in time.

Let's just let this thread run it's course...OK?

fyi, Disney Files (get it...disneyphiles) is the new name of the magazine that Disney mails out to their DVC homies;) ; unless they are DIS-ing us:rolleyes1 , no negative connotation:rotfl2:

im trying to grasp the notion that if somebody does have a negative observation (which could just as easily be called constructive criticism):rotfl: about a theme park...any theme park, it must be due to some sort of psychological trauma:confused3

I'm going to close this thread as it doesn't seem to be headed in a good direction.

To Orlando313, I would ask you to stick around. I think you will find our forum very helpful. Metrowest is one of the most helpful members on this board and is not a Disney hater. We joke around a lot here. I think calling ourselves thugs is a way to laugh at ourselves and seems much worse than calling someone a Disneyphile. The suffix "phile" just means "lover of" or "attracted to." Disney fans are lovers of Disney. It's hardly an insult.

And to the long time posters on this board, just remember that we were all newbies to this board at one time. We all started out with a low post count. Please do not assume newbies are trolls and please do not call anyone a troll. If you have a problem with a post, please just report it.
