What is all of this I'm reading about thugs? Is it some kind of inside joke or something. I'm sorry, but I'm new to this board and I must be missing something. Anyone want to explain??? Thanks!

It's referring to a now closed thread where the poster said he saw more of the thug crowd at Universal and implied Disney doesn't get that type of crowd. It was his so called "definative" review. We've just decided to run with it and have fun.

Ahhhhh, I see. Thank you! Hmmmm, thugs at Universal. I think there's more of a grown up, single crowd, not as many babies in strollers or families. But thugs? When I think of a thug, I think of a criminal type.

Everything that comes out of your mouth about Disney is very negative. Were you traumatized at Disney or something? I just don't understand all the negativity. Why can't Disney fans like Disney, and Universal fans like Universal? Why does it have to be, you have to like my favorite or else.

Metro is NOT trying to be negative, and slamming him /chastizing him is uncool.

Yes he is negative. About Disney. Every time he has mentioned Disney, it's been in a negative light. I was not slamming or chastizing??????? I asked a question. Is it now illegal to ask questions? I just want to know if he had a traumatic experience there that turned him off.

actually, Metro holds an AP to WDW.... and Universal.... Since he goes to both parks regularly, I think he's the last person I'd know to 'slam' either park.

AMEN! From a DVC owner & Disney & Universal lover who is sick of the constant nasty remarks about those of us that love Universal.

Check out your post count. Check out Metro's post count. Have you actually seen everything he's posted about Disney?

We who love both Disney and Universal laugh about zealots. Some of them were recently actling as if NOTHING NEGATIVE EVER, EVER, EVER HAPPENS around Disney property, while it happens in a steady, horrifying flow at Universal. If there are some pokes at Disney recently, it's all tongue in cheek, knowing that some people will never acknowledge that bad things happen everywhere, including the Magic Kingdom. The comments are aimed and pointed at the zealots, not really at Disney itsself.

Yet, they have managed to start a thread about a specific point (one could even say laid bait) and then leaped on a specific poster as soon as he responded with a very obvious opinion already formed about said poster.

There have been so many others come in and defend Todd here and I have something else to add. I know that Todd loves Disney and Universal both, just as other posters have said. I love Disney and Universal both. The "Disneyphiles" that Todd was referring to are those who are narrow-minded and think that nothing can compare with Disney. Universal offers a very good alternative to Disney. They are very different and very much the same at the same time. They are both theme parks with great rides and attractions to be enjoyed by anyone.

I'm not scared of expressing my opinions or asking questions on this board. I am not a troll. I ask a simple question, wanting to know what people were referring to when they referred to thugs. That was an honest question. And as some of you noted, I am new here, so I did not know what the whole thug thing was about.

Metro West replied with a comment about Disneyphiles, or however he put it, and this is not the first time I've read a comment that is derogatory towards people that like Disney. I asked a plain and simple question. Apparently he just thinks that hard core Disney fans are crazy. And that is fine with me. I am a crazy. But at the same time I also love Universal. I love both, I just love Disney more because I have more memories there with family.

I have never once mentioned anything bad about Universal, accept that their customer service was not equal to Disney, and I don't think that is a bad thing. Disney's customer service is equal to none, so therefore I compare it to none. I laugh when a Universal employee says something rude to me, or brushes me off. I don't care one way or another.

And if you were wondering why I leapt to that specific point about Metro West so early in the topic was because I was having a discussion with him in another post earlier where he had negative comments about a disney "crazy." I was not attacking as some of you say, which is why I hate message boards. I was just asking a plain and simple question and everyone blew it out of proportion saying I was attacking and slamming him. Just asking a question.

I love how you all band together and protect each other. And try to kick out the newbies. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
