Throwing up after donating blood?

Imagine that..another Zombie post brought up by a brand new member. Are they hunting for 'Halloween themed posts-"blood" in this case?

I threw up after coming home from giving blood. I didn't eat before the blood drawing, (probably dumb decision) but, I'm pregnant, and I get nauses 24/7. Usually without throwing up. Should I be worried??

Donating blood? or just a blood draw?

Nope...same as ever, they probably just clicked on a linked thread down at the bottom of a page. {{sigh}} It's not really that big a deal is it?

SORRY!!! Didn't realize this was a Zombie Thread! :headache:

In college, my boyfriend (now husband), his roommates, and I all gave blood for a free movie ticket (hey, we were poor college kids), we ALL got sick - vomitting, diarrhea - pretty much immediately and all within a few hours/days of each other. Not sure why or how but none of us have donated since.

I am hypotension ( low blood pressure), when I give blood I get dizzy & yes nauseous. I have vomited once or twice. She might want to have it checked.

I still give blood/platelets since I have an uncommon blood type. Just exercise more precautions, have a driver.

Damn got eaten by the Walkers!!!!!

Happy Halloween and welcome to the DIS, Mommytobe22!! Also go to the doctor with that question ;)

I'm was a donor phlebotomist and I can not tell you how many times someone threw up after donating.. It happened a lot, usually from not eating enough that day or because it lowers your blood pressure, you then become dizzy and nauseated.
