Throwing out the plan and starting from scratch

So, i thought I had my itinerary all figured out, but now I've added an extra park day (to give us a little more wiggle room) and I'm second guessing everything.

Here's the deal, my kids (5 and 7) and I are going for four nights (9/8 through 9/12). Originally, I'd planned on two park days (with park hoppers) and a down day to swim at the resort and go on the Pirates and Pals cruise (9/10). Today, I emailed my travel agent to add a 3rd park day. Instead of feeling relieved, I feel overwhelmed. I knew exactly how I would spend two park days, but three has my head spinning.

Originally, I thought we'd RD at DHS on 9/9 and then hop over to Epcot for the evening (where we'd have our FP+). On 9/10 we'd swim and relax and then go on the Pirates and Pals cruise. On 9/11, we'd RD Magic Kingdom and stay there until early evening. After that we'd play it by ear and either go back to the resort to swim or hop over to Epcot or DHS, depending on what we wanted to do. We leave pretty early on Saturday (9/12).

Now, I feel like scrapping that whole plan and creating a new one. But I don't know what to do. Should I rework all of the days? Keep Wed and Fri as is, and split Thurs between MK EMH and Epcot? Cancel our Pirates and Pals cruise or keep it? I'd still like to have some down time at the resort for swimming, just not a full day. Any thoughts?

Cancel the hoppers and the Pirates and Pals Cruise. Spend one day at MK (few hour break midday for swimming), one day at Epcot (few hour break midday for swimming), and one day at DHS from 9 - 3, with an evening swimming and relaxing by the pool! Depending on "best days" to go, I'd do Epcot, DHS, then MK.

Just checked Easywdw and Epcot is green on the 9th, DHS is green on the 10th, and MK is green on the 11th!

Have fun and keep it simple.

I agree with PP about canceling the hoppers and pirates and pals cruise.....your kids are young and I think it would be just too much trying to cram in, so you wouldn't enjoy it. Do one park each day so you aren't trying to hop from park to park and take an afternoon break at the pool each day. When my kids were that age, that is what worked best as they got their "play" time, and we got some time to cool off. Relax and have fun!

I 3rd this! Stick to one park a day...go early and stay until mid afternoon/evening, take swim break and them come back for evening activities if everyone feels up for it.

I may keep the hoppers (we thought we'd use them when we were doing two days, but it turned out to be a qualifier for free dining), but not use them. it'll still be cheaper than paying for the DDP. I like the idea of keeping it simple as i tend to overthink things. Thanks for talking me off the ledge.

oh wait, i just remembered why we booked the pirates and pals cruise. we'd planned on MK on 9/11, but the park closes at 7 for NOJ and there's no Wishes that night. The cruise would be our only way to see Wishes without park admission. now that we've added the 3rd day, we can go to MK to see Wishes on either 9/9 or 9/10. we don't really care to see Fantasmic, so maybe we'll hop over to MK on our DHS day. ok, now I just have to not tinker with the plan for 3 1/2 months.

Don't panic -- you still have plenty of time. If you don't have any ADRs to keep, just go CS and schedule your flow accordingly.

I think your plan is much better now. I don't think it was wise to attempt RD at MK the morning after Pirates & Pals, as that would be a late night by the time you got back to your room.

Great plan to go to MK for Wishes after DHS. You can still take a nice break in between.

Where are you staying?

We're staying at CBR and my kids are really excited about the pool, so I was hoping for daily pool time. Assuming the weather cooperates, which it probably won't.

You can still have daily pool time. We always take an afternoon break!
