THRILL SEEKERS: RNRC or EE?

Came back from Disney this week, and after discovering I loved rollercoasters ( I wouldn't even go on BTMRR when I was 10 ), I went on all the big thrill rides this time! My favorites were RNRC and EE of course!

This is just a fun discussion thread I thought would be interesting to post, and hear others opinions. Which do you think is more intense? Scary? Fun? Enjoyable? Breathtaking? I rode RNRC first, its rather smooth and short, I recall around 90 s but feels shorter, the launch is A TON OF FUN, but is very short as well. Insane g's going on the first loop after the launch also!

EE, I didn't expect the backwards portion to be so intense and fun! The drop was a lot of fun as well, didn't get the g's like RNRC though... But unlike RNRC, EE is EXTREMELY well thought out and soo impressively built which is definitely a factor. I think they both can be equally ranked honestly, what are your opinions?

EE - who can beat the views from animal kingdom from atop a mountain? The imagineers outdid themselves. That's why I go to disney instead of six flags

I like RnRC better, but probably because I don’t find it scary. I hate big drops, so EE is a little tough for me to get through. I’ve only been on it twice...I usually skip it.

If the Yeti worked, the answer would be EE, hands down.

I always thought the initial RnR loops in the dark were a bit of a waste without any obvious visual queues (feels like the backwards turns in EE). They should at least have us looping around a traffic and news helicopter.

They are both fun, but I still lean EE.

The first ride I did when I went to Disney was RnRC and I got off it shaking. Took me 10 years to get on another and I rode both SM and EE and loved them, so I guess RnRC would be more intense for me. that double helix did me in. lol

For intensity, its RNRC with the launch and inversions. For breathtaking, its EE because its IMO the best themed coaster in the US. So beautiful but the Gs you pull on the backwards drop are no joke.

For intensity though, both of these are middle of the road in terms of the overall coaster world.

Love the launch in RnR!! And the loops, but EE is my all time favorite thrill ride in the parks (and I love Hulk at Uni-especially since the rebuild). EE in the dark is spectacular!
@Liljo22 I live near Silver Dollar City with the new Time Traveler coaster- haven't tried that one (yet) but I'm betting thrills on that are pretty high as well

I don't really find either of them intense or thrilling, but I'd probably go with Everest. After the launch, there's nothing to RnR that makes it intense to me, even the launch isn't bad. But I find Everest has more "thrilling" parts throughout the ride and ones that last longer.
But I absolutely love both rides for what they are, they are definitely fun!

I prefer EE because I personally don't think RnR is that smooth. It bangs my head around. Plus the EE line is shorter. I love both though!

Compared to some of the coasters at Universal, I don't personally think any WDW coaster is too intense or thrilling. I have also been going on pretty intense coasters since I was tall enough to go on them, so I am probably a little jaded by anything not too crazy. If I had to choose between the two, probably RNRC just for the fun launch. But I feel like the Incredible Hulk Coaster and (the now decommissioned) Dueling Dragons are MUCH more intense than either of these, so I hope you continue to expand your coaster list!

Like others said, coasters at Disney are quite tame in the grand scheme of coasters overall.

I’ve found that sitting in the far back of EE helps get some airtime on the outside hill as the coaster gets pulled down the hill.

I’m spoiled though, I have a 120 mph launch and a coaster that has 27 seconds of negative Gs/airtime right in my backyard

I love RnRC launch, speed, and loops. The launch also makes the front row more compelling than it normally is on a coaster.
EE is more impressive with its views and design (the climb without the ratcheting alone is pretty cool), and the swapping track to go backwards. All of which make the back of the coaster the most fun to sit in.
And yeah, like other said, you can certainly do more intense outside of WDW, but their theming and everything still make them nice rides. Personally at Universal I really like The Mummy partly because they worked so much theming into the ride and didn't just focus on the coaster part.

RNRC is my favorite. I love the launch! EE is intense and I really like it too. It gets a little rough is the only thing I don't like, not as smooth as RNRC.

I can't believe I forgot about The Mummy! That might be one of the best designed coasters I've ever been on, just because of the good story behind it. It has a few good drops/launches too, I just love the entire concept!

Kingda Ka or TTD?

Missed that they were talking about Steel Vengeance. I want to ride that so bad.

I have not been on Steel Vengeance yet, but both of my DSs have and they say that hands down it is the best coaster they have ever been on.

OP, my answer would be EE. I just love the theme, the views, and the whole atmosphere of AK. And as others have said, EE at night is amazing! At dusk it is pretty cool too!
