We just got back and rented from Thrifty. I was nervous about renting from them since I had read both good and bad reviews. We rented a mini-van for $206 after all taxes and fees. We used the WMRT code from Mousesavers. They don't charge for an additional driver if the driver is your spouse so that was nice. We had signed up for Blue Chip service prior to reserving the car and when we made it to the shuttle there was a man there that asked if we were part of Blue Chip and we said "yes." He asked our name and typed something into his mini-computer and said that he would have it ready for us when we got there. They dropped us and our luggage at the curb and my husband went in to the Blue Chip counter and there was no line at all. He showed the clerk our confirmation and signed some paperwork. The man asked if we wanted to have a Grand Caravan, and my husband told him only if we could have it at the same price. The guy at the counter didn't reply and handed him a set of keys and a car number. The car was parked right out front and when we got there and it was a Grand Caravan! It had 3500 miles on it and it good condition. We were pleased and had no problems with them trying to sell us extras. When we returned the vehicle we filled up at the gas station across the street for $1.99 per gallon which seemed reasonable since we were paying close to $2.50 per gallon in Maine 2 weeks ago. We dropped off the vehicle and a shuttle was waiting to take us to the airport. They dropped us off right in front of the Southwest check-in area. I will not hesitate to rent from Thrifty again.
