Thrifty minivan $25 a day on Hotwire in October!

I was just playing around on Hotwire with our late October dates and got a minivan for $25 a day! It's not even a "blind" bid. Several companies come up and your credit card is not charged until you return the car and you can cancel if need be. Just wanted to give you a heads up! We don't have our flights yet, but we've looked and know about when we will arrive. I've always found rental companies to be pretty flexible on the time you get there, although maybe it's different in Florida.

The we site states you must pay in full for car rental at the time of booking and cannot be refunded or changed. That scares me a bit.

Yes, I saw that on Hotwire - that they now display companies that you can book where you can cancel and you don't pre-pay. I can't figure out how to get Hotwire to display the old "blind"' bids where you pre-pay and don't know the company until after you pay. Can anyone clear this up?

Edit to say that now I can only seem to get the "blind" bids to come up. I don't know what is different, but I definitely saw the "no pre-pay" options the other day when I was checking. Does anyone know how to intentionally get one type of quote or the other? Or perhaps it's just random or based on availibility and dates, so it's not something that we could figure out...

How weird! I can't ever get it to come up with blind bids anymore, but I was so happy with the rate I got, I didn't care, because I didn't want to pay right now. Interesting.....
