Anyone have experince with Thrifty or Dollar from MCO airport? I need to rent a mini-van since we are bringing my parents with us in Oct. and they both seem to have the best rates for mini-van rental. I know that Dollar is at the airport and Thrifty is not. Any feedback on either would be appreciated!

Thanks!

we had to wit about 5 min. for the shuttle but everything else was very quick including the dropoff. Good Luck!

used dollar last october, its right in the airport, checked in at the counter then you go right out the door to the garage show them your paperwork they point you to your car and your on your way, the whole preocess including loading the luggage was about 15 minutes. There is also smart cart drop offs right in the garage after you load your suitcases.I think its much easier then waiting for a shuttle, especially when you have a lotta lugguge.

For the same price I would definitely use Dollar. We've used them several times, never had a problem

Thanks for the input! Actually, Thrifty comes out to be about $70 cheaper. Now I just need to decide if being in the airport opposed to having to take a shuttle is worth $70 or not! Decisions, Decisions!!!!

I had the same question. For us, $70 is worth the trip on the shuttle. For $25, maybe not.

Good luck deciding.

BTW, we got such a great rate for 10 days through Thrifty with the KW18 code from the Magic card.

Very strange, because when I booked the Thrifty I got for $319 I did not use any code. Then after I saw the KW18 code, I tried it again using the code and it came out to $369. Very strange! I am going to keep playing around between Dollar and Thrifty up until the time I go. Can always cancel one! Right now though, I'm with you....$70 in my pocket is worth having to take the shuttle!

I got a much better price without the KW18 code, by $150 for a minivan. I'm currently sticking with dollar as they are still $15 cheaper, but will keep checking.

Same here DebMcDonald! Do beware of some of the coupons though. I think they take the money off of a higher base rate then just booking without the coupon.

Thanks so much for that info. I did try my reservation again today with the code and it was higher. We got 10 days in a mid size for $180 total. I will try again without the code to see what happens. I doubt I will get anything any lower with Thrifty or elsewhere, but I try a couple of times a week - you never know!
