Thrifty...$78/wk compact in Sept

So I'm trying to get a good rate on a car rental. These rates are crazy and they change daily...Today, Thrifty is $78.00/wk (using my AAA). We're a 10 day vacation so all tolled (taxes and other stuff)...$187.00. Here's my question: Are these rates going to keep changing? Do I need to check daily? What do you know about car rental agencies that I don't?

Did you book this online? I keep trying to figure out how to use AAA discounts online booking. The rates will vary dramatically...getting better the closer you get to your trip. Check mousesavers.com for discount codes, also rentalcodes.com. Most codes that are out right now only work until about the end of June. But $78 a week sounds like a good deal, but you may be able to get a bigger car cheaper than a compact at some point. I am going in September too, and have a standard SUV booked for about $50 a week less than the rates I could get for a compact.

I booked online through AAA, but the rate is the same at Thrifty.com. I will check mousesavers, thanks.
