Hello there fellow dis'er's,

Once again I want to thank everyone for letting me vent regarding school in the past, but I have one question. What's next? LOL, let me elaborate some. About six months after I get done with school I have this wonderful thing call 'student loans' to start paying back. How did some of you guys do it? The financial officer at school during my exit interview gave me the particulars and under a ten year pay back the monthly payments will $444.10, under the twenty year it'll be $288.30. Is there a way I can get the payments a little lower? A friend of mine said I should consolidate my loans, and with the really loan interest rates I'd be a fool not to. But is this a good way to go? I once heard that getting a consolidation student loans isn't a good thing. I don't know....that's why I'm asking my dis friends for help. I also have one more question...did any of you take up a second or third job...ok, a fourth job to pay it off :p ? Once again I thank you guys for letting me vent.

A College Graduate in Three weeks,

Definitely consolidate. Interest rates are really low now. I suggest you take the longest payback period you can get so your monthly payments are lower. You can always pay extra or pay it off earlier if you land a great paying job! I don't think you should take a second or third job just to pay off student loans. Just lowering the rate a percent or two will really lower those monthly payments.
