1. Make sure your phone can read QR codes, and bring it everywhere. The pool menu, Olelo Room, and many other places require a phone to see the menu. Maybe you can get lucky with a paper menu, but don't count on it.

2. Take a sunset cruise. We got a recommendation from this forum, and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend the tour. Great staff, music, scenery, and dolphins.

3. Check out Mina's Fish House. It's right next door and a great meal.

Great tips!

Would the sunset cruise be walkable back to Aulani after dark?

I highly recommend Ko Olina Ocean Adventures sunset cruise. We did a sunset sail with them last month and it was great. You can walk to the marina from Aulani. It’s about a 20 min walk. We stayed at the FS and had their house car drop us off and pick us up but there is a sidewalk where it’s safe to walk.

very sad to hear they are persisting with this theater
I would not look at that way..with the quick changes,,,there is now things that can change for good...I see this as a positive for the industry. Less paper,,can change menu with a quick update,,,have that menu match online,,,and even now promote specials on a first page....Almost everyone has a phone that can read a qr code,,,so I see it as a positive that came out.

surprised to see someone come out in favor of a QR code, a preference for what is often desperately zooming in on a poorly scanned PDF of the actual menu. it's a demonstrably worse experience for the consumer, one that actively gets in the way of the naturally convivial nature of the dining experience.

I actually don’t mind virtual menu. The paper menus can be so gross with so many people handling them.
Plus this reduces paper usage.
And if you use online menu, people with bad eyes can zoom in and read the menu better.
The only downside I can see is for people who are traveling from outside of the US if they don’t have devices or no wifi.

I would add that it depends on the family situation. Walking with, or carrying, young children may take significantly longer. We had a car, and drove to and from the marina. Note that there is a $10 parking charge there.

It was a $10 Charley's taxi ride too because that's their minimum. Fyi.

Thanks for giving the parking info! I just booked our sunset cruise but wasn't sure of the parking situation. We have a rental car for the week, so we'll drive and park.
