Cast: Me (OCD Disney Planner!)
Tim (My wonderful husband)
Skylar (My teenaged son)
Trevor (My 11-year old son)
Tori (My 9-year old Disney princess)
Mom (My mother who also loves Disney!)
Tim nonchalantly mentions after receiving last years tax return maybe we should go back to Disney next year!! Im in shock and joy!! We went to The World in 1999 and 2001, and I really thought that would be our last trip. Although we have had two incredible, magical trips to Disney World there are lots of places that we would like to visit while our kids are still young! I was excited (but skeptical - a year is a long time!) About 6 months prior to this years spring break, Tim mentioned it again! OK thats all I need we are going to Disney World!!! Let the planning begin!!
I am an avid planner maybe a bit compulsive, even. But I am convinced that is why our first two trips were so perfect! While others complain about the crowds and how long the lines are, and that they didnt get to do anything we have conquered the parks!! We are commando when we tour . I offered my kids the option this time, Would you like to go at a slower pace, and maybe skip some things or do you want to visit Disney World like we have in the past from open to close? I was somewhat surprised (but pleasantly!) when all of the kids said that they didnt want to miss a single thing! Even my teenager was willing to get up early to open the parks! Finally, after months of researching and reading Discussion Boards our Spring Break trip was about to begin!
We were originally scheduled to leave on Friday, March 19th after school. Skylar had to go to school until 3:00, while Trevor, Tori and I got out of school at 12:30. Tim was already off work on Thursday and Friday. Then we thought, maybe wed take Skylar out of school early on Friday and leave at 1:00. Hmmmm, how about all of us missing Friday and leaving at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning. Welllll, if were going to miss Friday school anyway, why not leave on Thursday after school??!! Thats it! Well add another night on our reservations, and leave Thursday, drive all night, and get there Friday morning! A day of lounging at the pool on Friday will more than make up for driving all night, right!?! Yeaa!!!
Friday, March 19
We arrived at Pop Century around 10:00 a.m.. We had connecting rooms, and one room was ready for us! Great, now we can unpack the van, and head for the pool! The weather is great, and we are excited! Our second room was ready by 3:00. After lounging at the pool, we decided to get ready and check out the Boardwalk. We have dinner at ESPN Club (love those wings!), and walk around the boardwalk, enjoying entertainers along the way! The juggler was amazing, and Trevor made a basketball shot from 20 feet away! We drive back to Pop, were all kinda tired, and weve got UPH passes starting tomorrow!!
