Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Avocado - I always have them around. They are so yummy and have so many great nutrients.

Limes - Admittedly, I usually just keep a bottle of lime juice handy vs full limes (bottle is green). I have been eating a lot of seafood lately and lime juice gives a nice acidic punch to things like fish and shrimp.

New Leggings - I bought a new pair of leggings. I wanted fun things for my races this past weekend that would work for St. Patrick's Day but not be so obviously holiday themed so I could wear them year round. This pair looks like camo from afar until you get on top of it and realize that there are black panthers hiding in the camo. They are especially fitting because DD's school mascot is a panther and their school colors are green and black (with white and gray as accents). So, grateful to find something suitable for longer distances, gym time, and even perfect for school events.

Afternoon all,

1. Nature/grass/trees - another vote for this, nothing better than seeing greenery every - fields, woods, meadows you name it.

2. Vegetables - a lot of the vegetables I prefer are green. Usually green beans, broccoli and peas (along with salad like lettuce & cucumber) are top of my list!

3. Green jumper - I don't have a lot of green things but I do have a green wooly jumper that is super soft and cosy and very bright, so stands out.

(Mon, 3/16) - your choice - 3 things you're grateful for that are black & white or soft & fluffy
1. Well, seeing as my second favorite (almost tied for first again) is the panda, my first answer should obviously be.... pandas!
2. Pianos
3. Stuffed animals! (I didn't see "soft and fluffy" at first.)

(Tues, 3/17) - 3 green things you're grateful for
1. Trees
2. My elementary school colors were green and white, so I'm going to go with my elementary school.
3. Kermit the Frog

Sloppy Foods
I HATE loose meat sandwiches like sloppy joes - I don’t know why it’s not the taste of them I don’t know I just don’t eat them it could be the mess 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Nachos

Anything with gravy

I will say spaghetti but I mastered the art of eating it with a spoon so it’s not so messy

I’m really not into sloppy foods for the sheer fact that they’re sloppy foods

Good Wednesday Morning!

#1 - BBQ RIBS - I love them, but don’t eat them very often because they are so messy. Sadly, my favorite local rib place closed - they always gave me a bib and nice warm cloths to clean my hands when I was done eating. I have great memories eating there.

#2 - TOSTADAS - I will take tostadas over tacos 100% of the time. I love them!

#3 - CROCKPOT PARMESAN GARLIC CHICKEN SANDWICHES - I am so excited to be making these for dinner on Saturday - they are so good! I can hardly wait!

#4 - BONUS - CHILI CHEESE DOGS - Another messy favorite! This has recently showed up in my dinner rotation, which means it’s time to make them soon.

1. My little great-granddaughter is just beginning to eat baby food. Her sweet messy face afterward makes me smile.
2. My messy kitchen after our family supper -- thanking God for blessing us from His bounty.
3. Sloppy Joes -- I make them often.

I'm another one that does not do well with messy foods. I'm that person with a stack of napkins who is constantly wiping her mouth and hands, as well as whatever has dripped on the table, because I don't like the feeling of food on me or running the risk of putting my elbow in something. So, I'm going to opt for messy processes to prepare food.

The food of my people - DD19 came home from college for several days with her friends. She wanted to share with them "the food of our people." One of the items I decided to make for them is called a lokshen kugel. It's sort of like bread pudding, but it's made with egg noodles instead of bread. I have never made this before in my life because I was never a fan of my family's recipe. Thanks to the internet, I found some swaps to make the custard more to my liking and I took a few pages from bread pudding recipes to bring it closer to that yummy treat. I made such a mess! Seriously...liquid custard mixture having a baking soda volcano moment all over the counter. Still, it turned out great, tasted really good and I had enough leftover to freeze for my parents' upcoming visit. I think I may make a sauce of some sort for it for round 2. The girls also really had fun with the entire experience.

Cakes - The kitchen becomes a disaster area for several days whenever I go into cake mode. Still, if I'm going to those lengths for a cake, it means it's for someone/something special.

Thanksgiving - It's our favorite. The kitchen becomes an absolute mess but so worth it for the holiday experience and the best meal of the year.
