Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Decoy box - I’m treating myself to a nice bottle of champagne for new year’s. I went to pick it up today and it was concealed in a Secondary outer box advertising something inexpensive. On one hand, it’s sad that this is needed but happy that such care was taken to make my purchase look more inconspicuous to help keep me and the curbside employee a bit safer.

Perfume bottle- I recently saw something about treating yourself to a signature scent. I bought some things about 6 months ago that used to be it but they no longer do it. I tried a couple of others in store today that I used to also have in rotation but I guess my body chemistry has changed and they also no longer do it. This wonderful saleswoman helped guide me and after four or five bottles, we found something I really like that seems so me. It’s in a pretty bottle that’s maybe a smidge more rectangular than a true cube.

Soft side cooler and Rubbermaid container- So apparently good champagne requires proper care before consumption. We have a large rectangular soft side cooler that I’m using to keep the boxed bottle in a cool dark spot. I don’t want the bubbles impacted by the vibration of the fridge so I’m using a plastic container in there filled with ice to help keep the temp a bit cooler. Grateful for these box like contraptions to help care for our festive treat.

Happy Saturday Friends

I liked everyone’s cube answers :thumbsup2

#1 - PANCAKES - I love pancakes and I consider those flat. I just had some on Christmas Eve when DD22 and I went out for breakfast.

#2 - MY KITCHEN THROW RUGS - These are very nice and flat which is perfect for by my back door, so I can open the door without the door catching on it. What makes me grateful for them is the color. They match my kitchen very well. I was super excited when I found them at Kohls.

#3 - PRINTER PAPER - Boring answer, but you always know how grateful you are for it, when you need it for your printer and you’re out of it.

Blankets - I have a huge collection I rotate them through depending on season I always have an extra one by the couch for me to use while I’m watching TV I would say 90% of them are Disney themed thank you Kohls cash

Towels - again huge collection again I would say 90% is Disney themed decorative hand towels kitchen towels bath towels beach towels junk towels you need a towel I’ve got one for you for whatever you need it for I’ve even got a whole set for the dog again I’m gonna thank kohls cash for this

Rugs - yeah you guessed it but this time I would say 80% or Disney themed but I have rugs for every season for inside and outside I’m gonna thank Hobby lobby this time with a back up to Kohl’s always on the lookout for decorative holiday rugs
You can never have too many and I’m very grateful for the ones I have

Wide angle lens- several years ago, DH gifted me with a speedy little lens intended for wide angle photography. The thing is so flat that I can actually keep it on the camera body when putting it in my bag. Some people even refer to them as pancake lenses because of their flatness. I have used it as intended but it turns out it’s also really good for group photos. I used it exclusively during photos with Santa the other week.

Lifting shoes- as much as I love my Brooks joggers (just went on sale the new iteration is coming out in February), flat bottom athletic shoes are best for lifting. So some of my fashionable “lifestyle” shoes now can be better justified due to their gym usefulness. The flat bottom adds stability which means safety as well as the ability to push harder.

Elevation- While I go out of my way to seek out the really good hills around the lakes and rivers when it comes to my daily walks, we live in a very flat area. Flat makes things like driving easier and more fuel efficient. It’s also helpful when you want to get moving again in the recovery phase after mobility related health issues.

Pizza- Even rising crust pizza is flat- and so good!
Old family photographs.. So much of everything today is digital, but I like actual photos.
Money/credit card... don't leave home without it!

I second paper! I live by lists, and also love being able to print things from the computer.

Definitely photos, too!!
